Since I grew up in the 80's I'm stuck on some cars in that era. It may not have the power but I love it anyways.

I highly doubt I will be buying any late model Viper out there in a few years. I think what I will focus on is the Ferrari Testarossa. I've always loved that car and the wide stance it has. Since I am pretty good with cars and mechanically inclined and not afraid to tackle things I may just go with a purchase in about 2-3 years. Obvioulsy I will keep my silver bullet. Anyone have hay idea if you think the Testarossa price will drop any more? Right now I think they are in the range of $60-70K.

That would sure be a beauty for nice convertible days. I agree with you on the SRT-10 coupe.

62K for the pictured car? Who did the conversion? If you are looking in that price range, I would look at a 355 in 2-3 years. Much better performance and less headaches. If you are stuck on the Miami Vice  theme and really need those sills or gills on the doors I would go with a 348 spider. They sound very nice especially with a Tubi exhaust at WOT.

Erdoc, it's just the wideness of the car and stuff I like. I actually hate miami vice.

Jon, how about we do an 80's flash back together...since you are shorter than me, we can play Fantasy Isalnd and I can be the taller guy with the white suit and you can be the small guy that points at da planes!

I've got a friend who currently owns a 996 turbo and a Murcielago and he is thinking of the dumping Murc for a 348. He had that car in med school and still thinks it can out handle the 360 he had before the Murc. I guess I can see the Murcielago thing.... it is a ***** to drive due to lack of visibilty. It's hard to enjoy driving a car if you are constantly worried about hitting someone while changing lanes.

And if loving what god gave you, in this case, an annoying little asian man who is *** on me, I'm afaid I will have to pass.

umm....huh?...uh...okAY.

back on topic...erdoc..I know many cars can whip this testarossa, but it's something about it that makes me want to get it. I never drove or got to get in a Lambo, but I bet it is something else...he wants to trade it in for a 348?

Nice cars, but slow by todays standards. A 1998 LS1 Camaro would eat it's lunch to atleast 130mph.

ab, have you driven or been in a Testarossa? If so you know what you are getting into. If not, they are very, very dated in the interior. I was a big Testarossa fan until I got a ride in one. It was very slow and really crude inside. Not to mention I pulled 3 car lengths in just 3rd gear when my car was stock.

Yeah, go figure.... I think he wanted something more dynamic in handling. I have driven a Murcielago and it just feels BIG even though the dimensions aren't that huge. It's no a car you can easily toss around. I certainly wouldn't trade it for a 348 but.... to each his own. In reality I think he's just going to add a 348 instead of replacing the Lambo. The sound of a Ferrari 12 is very pleasing to the ears. :2tu:

Yep..I have...yes it's crude inside...but it would not be for racing or anything like that..just cruising.

I like how the Testarossa looks a lot more than the new Viper coupe. As for performance, it is not nearly as fast as the viper, but it's not exactly slow. 5.3 sec 0-60 mph and 180 mph top speed are still pretty good.

If you really want the ultimate Testarossa though ,get a 512TR.

ab, your crazy. That car looks so old and dated, even more wedge shaped than a vette. The new couple BLOWS it away in every catagory. If you buy that pos, in 2 weeks you'll be kicking your own ass.

Gerald,

One choice is a flat 12 boxer-engined Ferrari, the other is a Dodge with no soul.

Uh No... You are right, mine doesn't make that sound. In fact I've been told it sounds like a jet ski :D , albeit a fantastic sounding jet ski :D

There is NO DOUBT any Viper is better than a Testarossa IMO. But that Ferrari is one that sticks out from most others when thinking back to my early teenage years :D

Also, the New Coupe will cost $25k more than that. Worth every penny in comparision though, but still alot more!

I think it's clear which wins in the styling department.
