I just recieved it but haven't installed it yet. I am questioning the "cheasy" little plastic piece that is supposed to keep the cap closed. It is so weak that I'm sure a sharp turn will have it flapping open. Anyone have experience with it?

I have had mine installed for three months and there has been no problems. In fact, I find it works very well and looks really good on the car. You will probably need to experiment with the spacers to get a proper fit.

thanks for the input. I guess i'll try it. my concern also lies with the heat in AZ. and gas vapors deteriating that plastic quickly.
