Soft compound tires. Dammit I wish someone made a set to fit the back of this car. I would have ordered a set before I picked it up

Agree with Brooks. An E55 is probably one of the hottest sedans around, but spanking it?? Well, it's like telling me you beat up your cousin who's the same age, but is chunky. Go pick on someone your own size!!

I don't know or could care less about the M brand but this guy chased me down. This was the first person that has come after me in my viper, remember I am in St. Augustine, FL so there is not much going on here in regards to racing period. Trust me I don't need my ego stroked I have had much faster vehicles and have respect for anyone that wants to play the game. And yes I can drive and have been racing primarily mustangs since the early 90’s. I drove my 04 Z06 to the dealership in Daytona last February and drove an 05 viper and it changed my life so I bought. But then again all of you know what that is like. Thanks Ivan I appreciate the thumbs up.

Okay Rambo, he drew first blood!!

Well now, that changes the story. Since he provoked you, then by all means. I'm sure I would have done the same. At least to a seriously fast car. I, and I'm sure many here were under the impression that you were out bullying the little children in the street. ;-)

Drive safe.

[quote I think you missed my point, or maybe I wasn't clear. Just because the E55 can give a Viper a run or possibly beat a Viper in the 1/4, doesn't mean it is the faster car. I was at the Z06 fest a few years ago and witnessed, over and over again, stock Z06's outrunning TT Z06's. The TT Z would run a 12.5@135 mph while some stock Z's were running low 12's @116. Which car is quicker? Sure the TT car got to the finish line 2nd, but it surely doesn't mean it is the slower car. Actually, it would blow the dorrs of the stock Z given it can put the power to the ground.

No, I got your point, I was commenting that you said "who cares what happens from a dig" and I commented that a lot of drivers do. Yes the SRT is faster from a roll, which I was thankful of and have already happily acknowledged. My point was that it is pretty cool that a sedan can be engineered to beat a sports car in one of many categories not normally recognized in a sedan class vehicle. As we have seen by the links, and I'm sure you have seen the vids of stock E's consistently running low 12's. Traction is the big issue with the Viper from a dig. Sides, the E was lookin' to race, and I was happy to see that the Viper showed it what for. That was my point. I'm just happy to own both, and be part of two performance vehicle "families" where common enthusiasm for our vehicles exist:) Different vehicles have different strenghts. I'll bet a great driver with great traction can beat an E in a drag, but it is much harder to get consistent low times in the Viper. If the race was longer than a quarter, apparently the Viper would pass at some point.
Same with the new M5, so far, the E beats it in the quarter, but at over 100ish, the M takes over.
