Spark plugs for CA cars

[Supercharged Vipermad]

I've seen several references to people changing plugs to a colder heat range to handle California gas without pinging. Two questions:
(1) does the Viper have a knock sensor?
(2) has anyone done before / after dyno runs to measure what occurred with the plug swap?

Also, compare the reach (length)of the colder plug
