Neil,
They are a waste of money, just a gimmick to sell overpriced plugs. Stock Champions are still the best choice for the 488. Look up the threads here, search under the keyword splitfire.

I think if you put the white end on the outside they will be ok. They might not add any performance but care in installation will reduce engine damage.
