I just read it quickly, so forgive me if some of the numbers are off.

The SRT-10 gained 10hp from its original number with the new SAE certified testing.
The Z06 gained 5hp.
The Cadillac XLR-V goes from 440 to 469!
The Camry V6 loses 35? Did I read that right? It was 225 and it's now 190?
The Avalon loses 25, from 280 down to 255?
The Acura MDX falls from 255 to 230?
The Lexus LS430 goes down to 290?

They said the Japanese brands generally lost ground while the Americans gained.

The question is: Is the SAE certified test now "The Standard"? Do all car makers have to re-test? Will the Ford GT show 600hp when retested? What about these brutally fast AMG SL55's/E55's which have to be WAY underrated at 469hp?
AND before anyone flames me, they weigh 4200+lbs and they run near a GTS. Brutal!

What does a customer do when the window sticker said 225 when he/she bought the car yesterday and 190 today?

Finally got it !

I think it's a good idea for all to be tested.
Doubt it will be required (unless insurance companies insist).

It will help eliminate the HP BS which has always been there... apples and apples now.

If I had a car go down by 35HP I'd sue them for fraud!

Could you imagine if the SRT went to 465 HP!!!

Maybe they should check the Caddy engines running in the World Challenge series... maybe those cars need more air restriction!!

I heard people also have dyno'd the 300C SRT-8 higher than expected.....we should see a new number on that engine too.

I had a short period that i owned a nisson 350Z, between Vipers that was the biggest lie in automotive history. Claim 287 the Dyno showed 235 hp. torque was down 45 lbs. dyno showed 11% drag.

i hope very one sues nisson.

287 is at the flywheel not rw which is what the Dyno reads...I just picked up an 05 Z and am very dissappointed with the power of the car. Maybe it will get better with a breakin. Dont know if I will have the patience for that..If not Ill flip it for an 04 M3 or better...
