" Well it finally happened, a true street car finally took down the infamous AMS EVO from Pensacola in a 60 - 150MPH street race. Prior to this we all had a great time tonight, watching the Tyson fight at my place then the weather cleared, we went to my Buddy Toms house and helped out Chris by (he was off the spray in the race though) topping off his N20 Bottle, and convinced Tom to take out his blown 04 Viper. Tom knew the AMS was going to be real strong and it was. We got a good jump on the EVO right at the 3rd beep and immediately put a couple cars on him and ran through 2nd, 3rd and 4th up to 150 and had to get on the brakes real hard to keep from hitting a car in front of us. I almost went through the windshield when he hit the brakes. It was definitely an awesome race. We had the top down and everything. Now the EVO had 4 guys in the car with a total of roughly 700 lbs and Tom and I weigh about 520 between the 2 of us. The EVO is a little lighter dry weight maybe 200lbs lighter so from a weight standpoint we were about dead even. Even with the 19" rims and 3.07 rear and long tranny gears in the Viper I could not believe the EVO could not run us down and get by us up to 150. The Viper is 100% stock with exception of the blower and runs on 93 pump gas. It still has all 4 cats and stock exhaust. I have the full video of it and need someone to host it. We have about 5 minutes of footage. The next race we tried was not that fun as when we hit it in second gear at 60 the backend came loose and we came very close to flying off the road. That is on video too. Kev-PSR will have a good video of that. There were 2 cameras filming the race so there should be good footage."
Sound like an SRT10 Viper when he said they raced "top down"..But I was convinced it was an SRT10 when he said he "almost went through the windshield when he hit the brakes" lol....Whose car is this?...Theres supposed to be video coming soon. ...When they post it Ill try to get the link up for those that dont want sign up to see it....Im trying to get power numbers on the EVO. Apparently its a full on race car and they say the SRT10 was the only car to ever beat it. A Vette had tried previously and failed to beat it but was close..Looks like the blown SRT10 easily beat it
Did a search and found some other sites saying this is the car the Viper ran: Impressive...10.1 @ 141mph....711hp
