Well here I am again...Some how I find my self in between a 1997 GTS Viper and a 2007 Z06. Though a full decade seperates these two BEASTE, from my perspctive it dosent seem that way at all....

To my left I view a red GTS Viper. Dayum it looks menacing even at a low roll..From 1996-2002 this car dominated all strips and road courses. With it's dcuented 11.9 at 119 mph 1/4 mile run in 1997 by Popular Science as well as a documented 11.7 at 120 by Evan Smith in 2001..Well it's not hard to see why. As I admire the curves I think to myself..Man they dont ake cars like that anymore..And they probally never will again.

Then to my right, the yellow 2007 Z06.Man that the koolest most ******** looking Vette Ive ever seen. Yet in that statement lies the problem. After staring at the GTS it looks too much like a Vette. But visuals aside the 2006-2007 Z06 is everything that the 1996-2002 GTS Viper was in it's day.

You think Popular Sciences test of 11.9 at 119 mph in the GTS was fast. A NOVICE DRIVER COULD DO THAT IN A C6Z06. Motor Trend took the lighter 2006 Z06 (3130 pounds) to an SCORCHING 11.5 at 127 mph. A recent MotorTrend test of the heavier 3190 pound 2007 Z06 ( added sound deadening ect.) revealed a still impressive 11.7 at 125 mph. POINT BLANK the C6Z06 is fast. Recent as well as past videos have revealed that a stock C6Z06 can pull a 1/2 car on a stock FGT to 150 mph...If thats not bragging rights than I dont know what is.

And then I cant help but to wonder how my red 2003 SRT10 looks between these two american supercars. As this is being filmed by a camaro chase car ( thanks G-ryde) I know Ill see soon enough. But while Im between them I cant help but think that if the GTS Viper and C6Z06 had a baby it would look a lot like my SRT10. So maybe shes the Bastard baby of these Monsters but her performance is MAN SIZE. With Motor Trend testing a 2003 SRT10 vert to an 11.7 at 123 mph as well as Road and Track testing a 2004 SRT10 vert to an 11.7 at 123 mph, she fits firmly in between the 1997 GTS's 120 stock trapps and the 2007 C6Z06's 125 mph stock trapps.

DID I JUST MENTION STOCK???

Well it's a good thing these two Vipers arent stock because the 125 mph trapping 2007 C6Z06 will beat the 123 mph trapping 2003 SRT10 Viper every time and ***** slap the 1997 GTS Vipers 120 mph trapps.

beep
Beep
BEEP

Man I gotta hurry and get my hand on the steering wheel. Why and the hell am I always the beeper anyways.

Evan at a 60 mph roll it's still a little scary acellerating hard with one hand doing the final third beep and only one hand grasping the wheel, and I quickly grasp the steering wheel with both hands..But even quicker is the c6Z06. From 60-90 mph he's put 1.5 cars on me. But to my left the GTS viper is matching him and there close..To close to tell wich one is winning but ther both 1.5 cars ahead of me at 90 mph. WOW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL REAR SIDE VIEW OF TWO AMERICAN SUPERCARS!!!!!!

But then my view as well changes. As I climb through third gear I crawl back a 1/2 car on the Z06. Now im directly on the Z06's bumper 1 car behind him..Dayum this is familiar..I can always be 1 car to .5 car behind him but have only beaten him fair and square once by a 1/4 car..The other 5 PLUS times this is pretty much the view I see.

But the GTS viper has done some crawling of his own..By the time me and the c6z06 shut down at 120 mph due to oncoming traffic the GTS is .5-1 car in front of the C6z06.

The GTS "who has a 1/4 mile of clear lane" acellerates to 140 mph with a scream of victory that can be herd over his exhaust.

SO THERE IT IS..tHE STOCK C6Z06 BEATS THE MILDLY MODDED 2003 srt10 VIPER BY A CAR AND LOOSES TO THE BLOWN GTS VIPER BY .5-1 CAR FROM 60-120 MPH....

Well if you lose the 100# roll bar and 50# from your belt line you will be more like 7.7 pounds per horse...................................

that you may pick up that .5-1 car lenght on the z............lol

problem solved:rolaugh:

The GTS had to start in third gear while we started in second gear...So it's very close..With some sticky tires and the GTS starting in second gear he would probally run away...
