Anoyne have any experience with this set up? It looks to be pretty good and verified effective by radartest.com

Excluding the display, it seems to be completely hidden and the display could probably be completely hidden with some ingenuity. Only problem is the price. Thoughts? Comparison to V1?

I don't have experience with that detector, but all I can say is my V1 rocks :headbang: . Nothing would ever replace it except for a V2 if they were to come out.

Being from VA myself, my suspicion is the stealth option is important to you...

You might want to check out Beltronic's system. It is sold for about 1/2 the price but I am not sure what the pros and cons are in relation to the ****** version.

Anyone out there have any experience with either?

Charles.

I live in VA where radar detectors are illegal, and I use the V1 with no problem. This thing has saved me so many times I lost count. I can't speak for the other makes but I do know that there is a remote display available for the V1 as well as a rear view mirror display. If you do a search on the net there are instructions for hard wiring the V1 to the cars electrical system so as to eliminate the cord which is usually and visually what gets you caught.

I appreciate all the responses. The company that wires the V1 into the rear view is beastpower.com. The unit costs about $700 and that does not include the V1.

I was thinking of getting the V1 and running the wires down the A-pillar with the remote display hidden in an A-pillar gauge pod.

I have the SR7 and love it (so far). I wanted stealth and it came out nice.

Unit on the column:
You must be registered for see images

Custom bracket to hold rear sensor, uses the screws that hold the light assembly:
You must be registered for see images

Hope this helps.

Valentine V1 is the only way to fly!!!!! I will pay for itself in spades(insurance and pts) dont waste money on anything else.
My neighbor "had" either the SR7 or K40 setup (Can't remember which one) in his 360 Modena. After driving with our V1, he had whichever setup was in the Ferrari removed and just plugged in the V1 instead. He was pissed that he spent over $1,000 for what he had before, and it couldn't compare to the V1.

The directional Arrows are priceless :2tu:

The Valentine V1 I actually I have two of them, w/ 5 of the windshield mounts and a cord in everycar. I keep one in my Yukon and take the other in whichever car I'm driving or the wife uses the second one. The V! has saved me so many time i cant count from inumerable tickets, thousands of dollars in insurance, and possible jail on a couple of occasions!!!!!!! The V1 is the best!!
(and no i dont work for them, i just love this product) the business operation they run is great. when i ordered my second unit i ordered it on a monday 9:30 am and got it Regular Mail the next day tuesday at 1:30 pm. you will also be comfortable know it will not be obsolete, as they have an update service available also to keep the units current w/ the flavor of the day (ka, laser, k, x bands) i have also use this service 2 times, once because ofthe age of the unit the other i dropped it. and in both cases they sent brand new units w/ up to date software and all accessories. Buy the V1 and you wont be sorrry.

V1 is the best radar detector.

I have 3 V1's, changing a detector from car to car required to much pre-planning. A mile from home I would remember the V1 and it would be in the wrong car.

Just as an aside Mike Valentine was the Co-founder(Cincinati Microwave) and developer of the orginal ****** and Passport. Then sold his part of the business to partner, w/ a noncompete agreement for so much time. All that time was spent developing the V1. Susequently the Parent Co of ****** (Cincinati Microwave) wemt bankrupt and the passport and ****** name were sold at auction w/ the rest of the assets. I dont think the current owners have the passion for this field that Mike Valentine does.
