Friend has a 2002 RT/10 with 17K miles.

For the past month when he starts it in the morning, it runs for 2 seconds and stops. He re-starts and it runs perfectly the rest of the day.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Hey George,

Any check engine light on? If he hasn't already, have him replace the spark plugs [it's time anyway]. It could also be some of the fuel draining back to the tank[ fuel pump check valve not holding the fuel?]. Also make sure the battery is good. Clear/reset the PCM [dump the cookies].

Thankx, Chuck.

I will make those suggestions to him.

I'll have him put in new plugs and wires first - there is no Viper Tech near him in NM.

The fuel pump check valve was my first guess.

Dirty throttle bodies may cause that. GM top engine cleaner is good stuff follow the directions on the can.

I posted here on a previos post saying "don't doubt the wizzard" that is not what I am trying to do. Chuck's da man.
