Anyone know where I can find the stock roof height of a 2006 coupe? I'm trying to do some calculations for storage lifts and minimum ceiling height.

Anyone have a lift in their home garage? How tall is the ceiling?

Tony before I got my lift I wondered the same thing also. But, how far back does your garage door go? If like most it only goes back over 1/3 the car. The door doesn't need to clear the roof, it needs to clear the hood or trunk (based on how far back the door goes). To test this, open the door with a car inside and see what you would need to clear. I've got a 4 post lift with an 8 1'2 ft ceiling and it works fine for 2 vipers (RT/10 & 06 coupe). Both these cars have low heights, eyeballing my wife's 911 cab I can see it won't fit. The only issue I have is that the car on top has to be backed in. The door will clear the hood, but it won't clear the coupe's back glass of the RT's sport bar. If you need to know the coupe's height you can find in on-line at KBB or new car sites that list vehicle spec's and demensions. Mike

I have a revolution lift and the garage ceiling height is about 14' but a structural beam across the ceiling (visible below) knocks my clearance down to about 12'. Note also that the picture below shows the lift at its maximum height and it still fits comfortably. I could lower the lift a couple of feet and still have clearance for a four-door sedan and MINI Cooper (but not our minivan). At maximum height, I can fit the minivan and several large vehicles such as SUVs and pickup trucks below the Viper.

Hope this helps.

It is interesting that your ceiling height is on 8.5'. I think mine is 8.25' and I have thought about spending nearly $40K to build a new garage just to get my Viper in the air. I am not concerned about parking anything under it. What make & model # lift do you have? Thanks for your help. I may not build a garage after all if this works.
