Stripes..again

I searched, but couldn't find the approx. price it should cost to paint the stripes on a 99 GTS. The two local body shops near me want over $3k just to add the stripes. They also want to remove body panels like the hood,front bumper,rear bumper and even the rear fenders!!! I deffinatly don't want them messing with the hood alignment and I really do not see the need to remove any of them other panels other than maybe the front bumper. Any help would be appreciated!!

Yea..looking at blue stripes...really nervous about letting a body shop remove panels though.

I had mine done. They took the body apart and it went back together better than factory. The paint cost me $750.00 but the average quote I got was $1200.00. It is very easy to remove and replace the vipers body panels. That is at least it was on my Gen II.

If this is going to be perm than painting them on is the way to go as opposed to vinyl. Vinyl, no matter how well done is obvious and if you're a perfectionist they will bug you. I've read posts on this site that quoted stripe paint jobs from $800 - $2000 or more. Ask around your regional club...there must be someone in your chapter that knows a reputable paint shop with fair pricing.
