The Easy off oven cleaner worked great. Put on a coat, waited 30 min and scrapped with a small puddy knife. This got most of it. I then hit it again, leaving it sit 24 hours and wiped with a cloth, followed by another application and 24 hours. Total time of me actaully working on it, probably 30 minutes. In contrast I spent 30 minutes per wheel polishing this winter. I think that it paid off though!

You shold have your dash covered with Carbon Fiber Twill...would look sweet

Yea, just about any grocery store, in the cleaner section. Although, I was in two stores and could not find it. I am sure it was there but it did not jump out and bite me.

It is now ready for paint. I have the glove box door drying right now, as long as that looks good I will have the dash done this weekend. Well, painted, not installed.

This was not my dash, bought it off Ebay. It was a POS, but since I was refinishing it was perfect. If I install and do not like I can put my original in and sell this one and probably make money doing it.

what other prep did you do? are you going to sand before painting?

Sandable primer, wet sanded. Just prevenative in case there is scratches in the plastic, if there were the black paint would show it.

I am going basic flat black with a flat clear. The glove box door is done and it is basically the same color and finish as the top part of the dash.
