When changing out the clutch hydraulic fluid, do I need to remove the rubber boot at the top of the reservoir and fill, or just fill the boot? What is the purpose of this boot in the reservoir?
My fluid has never been changed in the 4+ years I have owned the car.
When I removed the filler cap, the rubber boot was empty. I pulled the boot out and there was very little fluid in the reservoir below, so I know it was a little (or a lot) low.

Thanks

The diaphragm is supposed to act as a barrier to moisture from the air. Remove the diaphragm and per the Wizard's instructions, suction out the fluid, refill, pump clutch 20 or so times, suction out once more, and refill and reinstall diaphragm.

I just had the same thing happen to me. you my have to replace the slay on your ride.If the level was that low it is leaking out into the bell housing cover and you can not see the leak. How many miles do you have on it? For what it is worth if you have to change it out call Jon B at parts rac He has a package for a new 20.5 lb fly wheel, 900lb.clutch and a new dodge slave.:2tu:
