Just got the date for this year’s Sunshine Kids Cruise to the Capitol. Nothing like providing Cancer patients and survivors with a surprise escorted ride to the capital in an exotic dream car…a true dream come true for many of these children!
When: Date is Wednesday June 10th with tentative times being:
Where: Meet in South Austin at 7:15 am (leave at 7:45 am) in the Blockbuster Movies Parking lot ooIH-35 and William Cannon. OR Meet in San Marcos at the Activity Center at 8:15 am with depart time 9:00 am SHARP
From there we will head out to the Activity Center in San Marcos. There, we will pick up the kids and have a police ****** up IH-35 to Slaughter Lane. From there we hit Congress and head straight through downtown and to the capitol. The ****** will block all roads and intersections for us. We should be done around 2 pm.
There is NO COST OR REQUIREMENT to attend other than all vehicles being in a clean show like shape. However, we are looking for a couple of good businesses to donate $300.00 each to purchase T-shirts for the kids and all drivers. If you know of a company that would like to help out please let us know. We will have full color graphics, business name and logo on the back of 100 T-shirts. Your spouse and or children are encouraged to come along. We do ask that during the cruise from San Marcos to the Capitol you give The Sunshine Kids <http://www.sunshinekids.org/> shotgun. Please let them know what vehicle you will be driving. You can email them at [email protected]
