I am interested in purchasing a supercharger in the near future for my 96, I am just trying to get some information about them, what would be the best to get? Are they easy to attach? What would my gains be? I am all stock right now and also I would have to pass emission inspections, would I have to replace my cats?
HOW do you like them?

enough with all the Questions
just have to ask to learn

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

Hey FLX- 30% rwhp gain should be expected on s/c alone. I'll PM you more later. I still have my cats with headers and 3" exhaust. We have some Gateway Clean Air program B.S. here and I still passed emmisions no problem.

I still find it amazing how a SC can give you over 500hp to the rear wheels ( without any mods ). Also, its just as amazing that it passes emissions...DAMN!!!

Depends on what your priorities are. I wanted to do it myself, quality bonding time with my car. Happy with Roe support and product. It looks and runs awsome.

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

Paxton probably makes more power stock kit to stock kit, but their support *****. SC is the best bang for the buck. Just decide what type you want, and call the support team for the product before you buy, and ask allllll the questions you want, and see how they respond. IF they dont seem geniunly interested in helping answer all your questions, even after you buy the product you will probably get the same lack of support.

Ideal for me, would be the Paxton kit, with the ROE support model.

my 2 cents.

I love my Roe S/C - it makes the Viper a perfect car for both street and track. Low end torque is so great that downshifting is rarely needed and 6th gear pulls nicely from 50 MPH on up. The other gears pull hard to insanely hard as well. :2tu:

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

God I want to get a Roe S/C so badly BUT I have heard from a few "know-it-alls" that blowers are actually worse for your motor that doing other mods such as headers, rockers, etc, etc. I won't say names(to protect the innocent) but they have seen all kinds of problems with blowers, the biggest being holes in the pistons. I actully cancelled my Roe blower because of the doubts that I have and the things I have heard. I'm in trouble now!!

Superchargers work fine when tuned correctly. If you keep the hp levels under 620rwhp the stock engine will hold up well. We install both Paxton and Roe superchargers and will give you all the technical support you need. Feel free to call us, we have supercharged over 30 Vipers and have yet to have a tuning related failure.

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

I didn't hear of that but the biggest was the pistons and another was something with the fuel delivery. Also heard it messes with the computer, tuning it a a bit$#, and a couple other issues I will find out about and let you know. I want to talk to someone who actually has one on their Gen 1 car for a while and see if there are any issues. Cheap HP that is for sure. I am not doubting Sean Roe's work, he knows what he is doing but you hear things that makes you wonder.

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

it would seem to me that with an intercooler it would actually prolong the life of the motor being cold air is going through rather then hot but thats just me.

I have heard a few bad things about paxton but have yet to hear 1 bad thing about a Roe, all i know is as soon as i can rather the funds im gettin a Roe blower.

Hey IEATVETS i will be more then happy to be your ginny pig on my viper just buy me a Roe charger and i will let you know how she turns out. lol

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

I think I will call the man himself, sean roe, and talk at length with him. I want a blower but I have all of these doubts. Also, I have a warranty on my car so if I do any engine mods, I can throw that warranty out the window.

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

If you plan on getting a S/C I wouldn't throw your warranty papers away so soon. Do some research on your dealers talk with the service managers, and get to know them. You'd be surprised with the results.

Re: Superchargers Questions ????

? for Roe SC guys-How loud is your SC. My Paxton with a 8 lb pulley sounds like a jet engine when at a certain rpm. I mean it whines like crazy. People turn heads all the time when this thing comes down the street. It actually hurts the ears at the right rpm's when the the windows are down.

Mine sounds like a tuba played at the highest note you could play while jacked through a 10,000 watt amp in a 20'X20' Room. Ahhhh, music to my ears. :headbang:
