SW took a solid second in the one mile run hitting 191.04mph with a TT Vette only a hair faster at 191.03.
Congtats to SW running his MOTOR only on 93oct built by RACING SOLUTIONS INC.

where were all the SC and TT Vipers?

Motor only built by RSI, goes to show you that when it comes to speed RSI knows how to build a motor.

Another fine run for SW, all around driver, great job.

Props to SW :2tu:

All motor Viper running 93 pump gas, beat by a twin turbo Vette by .01 in a mile .... that is CLOSE

I bet the Vette was not running 93.

What were 1/8 and 1/4 mile and other times of the mile run???

191.03 is not faster than 191.04 :)

Tony you be correct :2tu: ...

If it was other side of decimal...it would be faster....

maybe SW won and no one realized it.

Since this event was also open to bikes, I just have to throw in a few more results...the fastest vehicle there was a turbo Busa that went 210 mph...

There was an all-motor Busa that went 202 mph, and another all motor Busa (with a blown head gasket) that went 192 mph...

They said the cross winds made the big end scary!

Wow - that is a great accomplishment. I've been convinced for a while that the Viper engine would make a lot of power once you ditched the hydraulic roller cam and went to a decent solid roller. A good set of heads will be good for 900+hp so the with the right supporting hardware, lubrication and cam that is certainly achievable by those with the skill to do it.

Re: SW ran 191.03 at the mile run

Thanks for the comments. I was trying to calculate what gear I should run and decided to keep the 3.33. I hit 6500rpm about 250ft before the end of the mile. I backed off the gas and ran through the traps at 6400rpm. Next time I'm going to try the stock 3.07. My buddy's LPE TT ZR1 just edged me out! He was running a 3.73 gear and was at 7500rpm which was perfect. His car makes 750rwh. My old 415ci ZR1 ran 184mph@8000 rpm, he was out of gear also. There was a LPE TTC5 that ran 188mph also. All I can say is that my RSI 510 on 93oct pulled hard and ran flawlessly.

Wow - only using 6500rpm max! That's very impressive given how many rpms' the Vettes needed to get their power up there.

If you could have let it rpm you'd have won for sure! :2tu:

....a bit of attention to oiling, oil squirters to pistons, drain back etc, assuming good crank and rods etc - & let her rip to 7k! :D

That's because of the DOHC design of the LT5. The 7.0L's in the C5's turn well below 7,000rpms, then again it's OHV.

Great runs SW.

LOL - the V10 will turn 7000+ safely - it just takes a bit of work and money with that in mind at the build stage. If RSI want to spin their engines to that they'll know how I'm sure. The rod stroke ratio is not great - but still better than a lot of Chevy's turning over 7000rpm on a weaker block - it's all in the build and componentry. The Viper can do it - it is just that most tuners prefer to build for safer and lower rpms where the torque is for the street. The SVS Twin Turbo race car can run 7000rpm under boost! :headbang:
