Tape Damage On Coupe

I need help!! I got a fair-sized "ding" on the white tape on the upper part of the cowl on the hood of my '96 coupe. Problem is how to fix it??! The dealer told me that replacing the tape may be difficult-(due to the natural aging process of the tape on a 4 year old car) that the "new" tape may be too white/bright?!!
Any suggestions? Thanks!

It's not tape, it's PAINT!!! If your Viper tech doesn't know that then you should find another dealer. Take it to a reputable body shop and have them look at it.
