TECHNICAL QUESTION, REAR PLUG WITH LABEL,HELP

[WANTED]

while installing my exhaust this past weekend i noticed something that i think
could be a problem. towards the front of the rear but located on the main hub i
saw what i think would be the plug to check the rear fluid. between the end of
the plug and the rear casing is a red tag stating what type of fluid to use.

now my concern

looking at the plug i could see a good 1/2 inch of treads with the red tag dangling
between the rear and end of plug. the plug felt tight but its the type that wont
take a wrench. at the end of the plug is a hole, is this area for a allen wrench.
it also looked like some fluid could be leaking however none is showing on my
garage floor. i just had the oil changed and all the fluids checked which might
be why i see a very very small amount of fluid by the plug and casing.

SHOULD ANY TREADS BE SHOWING AND IF NOT WHAT TYPE OF TOOL IS REQUIRED TO TIGHTEN
THIS OR IS THIS NORMAL. I CAN TAKE SOME PICS IF NEEDED.

Threads WILL show...especially, if you have not changed the fluid before. After your first change, and using proper toeque spec (15 lb-ft), one typically sees less thread on the plug.

It takes a 3/8" Allen (hex) wrench.

It's pipe threads. Yes, you will see threads.

Just upgraded my exhaust to B&B and saw the same thing. Guess it's time to change the fluid... Is Amsoil or another synthetic w/the Mopar friction modifier the way to go?

HERE ARE THE MOPAR FLUIDS:

Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant 75W-140 P/N 04874469... takes about 40 oz.

and

Limited Slip Additive Friction Modifier 04318060AB...takes
4 oz.

When filling put the 4oz additive in first. Then fill with the 40oz. I didn't end up using all the 40oz.
