What? Did you send the old board to Evelyn Wood? Much quicker. Good job, Tony.

(Now lock this thread, for cryin' out loud!)

So far so good, knock on wood! Other than cookie issues all is going well. Tony gets an AAA+++ for his efforts.

The new server is up and running with twin 1 ghz cpu's and nearly a GIG of memory. Our ISP seems to think we killed an ant with a sledge hammer (He has a similar server running most of the rest of the ISP!), but hey, we drive around in 450+ HP Vipers, what should he expect

Most of the problems getting the server upgraded had to do with Dell aswering the question: "What Dell specific parts do we need to go from one to two cpu's?" incorrectly. They forgot about a Voltage Regulator Module needed for the second CPU

We had the server all peeled open, parts scattered...... and noticed a very ominus looking empty connector. So we called Dell, and they said "Oops, forgot about that part". So even Dell's legendary customer support goofs once in a while.

For what it was worth, when the part arrived, it was much easier to get the case open and finish the install of the second CPU. The inside of the Dell server was a very friendly environment to work, lots of space compared to a home box.
