While my intake manifold is off, I am doing a 180 degree thermostat.

Do I need to drain the lower coolant to do the thermostat or can I just put it in "wet" with the new gasket?

Thanks for any help.

Always recommend flushing when changing thermostat. But if not you can just remove the plug from the bottom of the radiator(driver side)and drain about a qt or so out to lower the level to avoid coolant spill when removing therm. housing

I actually have the thing off I didnt know how Dry the block had to be. Ill just put a bead of silicone on the housing, stick the gasket to the housing then bolt it back in place. The antifreeze is really new.
