Thinking of buying some KUMHO V700 Scrubbs

Thinking of buying some KUMHO V700 Scrubbs (slightly used tires) from partsrack. Mainly because everyone’s out of new V700s and I have a track day coming up. I have never bought used tires before and I am kind of hesitant. Should I be Hesitant?

Back in my stock car days we used to have a saying.

If you buy tires with half the tread remaining, for half price,
then you and the original owner both paid the same price for the tires,
but he got the good half.

And I think you might be paying more than half. I have those on my Viper and I like them but I thought they were only about $170each

you dont exactly get a lot of thread on new Kumhos, a set of scrubbed maybe
on the road legal limit, I'd check to see exactly how much thread there is espicially if you plan to drive home afterwards

I think you need to have reliable info on the number of heat cycles, not just tread depth, and how long they have been sitting since being heat cycled. Be very careful on them...is it worth the risk? How much will car cost to repair if tires lose grip and you go into a wall? I would only buy scrubs to do some testing or something on tires that I didn't care if they got flat spotted. I also would only pay max $50/tire for limited usefulness. JMHO
