There are 2 different ways to tie down a race car. one way is to have web straps made up which go over each wheel and attach to the bed of the trailer with a snap at each end of the strap. Then you have recessed hitch rings in the trailer bed to attach the snaps to. The strap also has a rachet built in to tighted the strap. The advantage of this setup is that it allows the cars supension to move freely on the trailer thus asorbing the bumps. The other way is to tie down the frame of the car with mounting brackets that are attached to the car but this is a poor way to do it as the car gets hammered on every bump. We used the wheel method for 35 years on our racing team.
