08 Viper was showing low tire light because of a tire change aprox 180 miles ago, I believe I reset all sensors correctly with the tool & magnet, (Isn't the horn suppose to beep though when reset?) my question is does it take driving the car for the light to go out because it did not go out after resetting them?
Having some Pretty nasty weather here so I couldn't take it for a drive yet .

As I have done this only on Gen III's...can't really answer about the horn on a Gen IV...BUT, I do not see the horn mentioned in the TPM programming CD for 2008.

I do remember having to try the procenss a couple of times before it "took". As directed by scan tool, we started on LF and went clockwise with the magnet as directed on screen. I do remember wondering about a time limit to complete the process...as I KNOW that time is a factor on some cars...like my Caddy.

Hopefully, someone more experienced will jump in and help.

P.S. "Verify that the module programming is complete by looking at the tire pressure ID's in the Sensor Display using the scan tool".

The menu should be right there on the scan tool...it is pretty clear using a DRB III on a Gen III at least. What "tool" did you use ?

OK...I'm in our 2008 with the DRB III working as "Stand alone".
Select "All" in "Diagnostics", then "Chassis & Body Exterior" then "Tire Pressure Moniter", then "Miscellaneous", then "Program Module", then follow munu, doing the "magnet dance".

Hope this helps...let us know!!!

Sorry, but I have no experience with the aftermarket tire pressure sensor setup tools.

Thankyou for your time, I do not have a star scan tool to put into learn mode anyway, I thought this tool was all I needed, looks like I will have to take to a dealer or wait to bump into Chuck Tator.
When I call these dealers around here about it they all want me to leave the car and I do not trust them to mess with it.

thanks

I can't say that your tool won't do the job...only that I don't know how to do that with your device.

Call Chuck!!!

Please note that I mis-typed "2002" when it should have been "2008" in my "8:10 AM" post above...now corrected.

This matters as it is a DRB III that reads this system on a 2008 Viper. I KNOW that you will need a StarScan or StarMobile(the latter in conjunction with a laptop) to read the PCM...not sure they will read Body Modules. Sadly, this gets expensive!!!

Looked on ebay for one and they are expensive, maybe I can rent one somewhere or rent one from member and pay to ship it back and forth.
Other option, take a ride to see Chuck Tator
I just do not trust the dealers around here.

I had this same thing happen to my 09 right after a new wheel and tire change. The wheel was scratched up inside somehow when I bought it. You dont get a horn but a "ding" and the amber light. I had to have my dealer re program the computer with a hand held device and after driving 1 mile the problem was solved.

For the dealer to reprogram your TPM should take no more than 10 minutes. There should be no reason for you to have to leave it at the dealership. I have used a StarScan on the 2008 and 2009 Vipers to do this when a tire needed to be changed.

Have fun

TPS...TPM...

What is that?...;)

Seriously, I don't use them. I rotate tires between several cars and it is PITA to reset etc. I also use different tire pressures for different types of driving and different tires.
(Street, Track, Distance, "Saturday Night" Street...:D)

Not exactly sure that I trust them anyway...:dunno: Seems like everyone has some sort of issues.

I do it the "old" way. Before I take a car out, I check each tire with a gauge, along with the oil.

How do you kill the low tire pressure dash light?
I've been driving with it on since I switched to track wheels.

Note most tire shops carry the equipment to reset the sensors as well. I know Dsicount Tore does from experience.

I had to go home and check and see what light you were talking about...

I guess I kinda' block it out. I forgot it was there....:dunno:

After a while you don't even notice it...:)
