Tired of cleaning your ACR wheels?

The ACR wheels in particular are a challenge to clean. If you primarily street driving I suggest you try the EBC pads. I Put them on all four corners 200 miles ago. Hadn't washed the wheels since then and virtually no dust on the wheels when I washed the car tonight!

I bought the car new and started with the factory pads, they made a ton of noise and covered the wheels with black dust with every short ride. I then went with the porterfield R4S, and they cut the dust back by maybe 2/3 but were not the answer for me. Again too much dust and just a little squealing.

The EBC's were priced right so I tried them. All I can say is if you don't like cleaning your ACR wheels then get them. They do what they say, no squeak and almost no dust. Plus the dust is isn't black, kind of grey.

Just sharing my findings, hope it helps someone.

I'll have to jump on the EBC bandwagon. I was hoping to get a few more miles on these pads before making a statement...BUT...after around 70 miles, my wheels are still clean. What a difference! For that reason alone it was well worth the switch.

What about EBC's longevity and stopping power?
Doesn't seem to last nearly as long as stock ones at the track as posted by Chuck. So how soon do they wear out, and what is the stopping power compared to stock?

I was going to order the EBC pads, but to be honest, I waws a little hesitant when I saw that post a couple days ago when somebody used them at the track. I think the person posted that the stock pads were good for about 2-3 track days and the EBC ones he used didn't even last one. So does this mean the EBC pads are not going to last very long at all? Like others, I have an ACR and would love to get rid of the dust on the wheels, but not at the sacrifice of durability and performance.

Perhaps I need to be better educated on them, but I do not want a pad that increases stopping distance and doesn't last very long.

Anyone who can help me out???

I run Performance Friction 90s and love them on the track very little to no dust and very little wear but they are double the price of EBCs so i'm going to try the EBC race pads next.

I use EBC pads on my dirtbike '01 CR250 and considering how much they're used for steering/dicing my way around at high speed they last/work quite well..

That was my post. My GTS had brand new EBC reds on the front and green on the back. Although I would strongly advise against them for the track, I will probably get a set for my RT/10, which I only drive on the street and occasional dragstrips. It is a fine pad and leaves zero brake dust and zero squeal.

I think EBC has a higher rated pad than the red, and it may very well be suited for the track, but on the advice of JonB I've upgraded my GTS to a Porsche pad and StopTech brakes.
