I got an 04 ....

I just got the car and I always replace all fluids when I buy a used car.

I want to do the work myself....BUT I am not sure if I should pay a lube shop to "flush" the tranny? is that a good idea if I dont truly know when the tranny fluid was last replaced?

The other option (and the cheapest) is I will drain the the fluid myself and replace it....of course I wont be "flushing" the tranny.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Because there's no trans cooler or lines no torque converter or valve body like an automatic transmission there really is no purpose to do a flush. When you drain it, it's done. Just a drain and fill is fine.
