Broke the counter shaft spline on my 96 RT-10 again. Second time in about 20k miles and 5 years. Stock everything 45K total Bugger. Original trans number was 1386-014 not shown on the Tremec web site. Gets better broke the bell houseing on removal, know any bell housing sales people in Wisconsin or IL open on Sunday? Bought a supposed "new" trans on ebay. Looks new, number TEUT 5248B 03679 P05038002AD P0663 TTRTM 096603679. Anyone have a clue on these numbers?
There was no hole for the speed sensor seams they now take that from the ABS brake package. Was able to move the wheel that rotates in front of the speed sensor from the old trans to the new one. I will have the machine shop at work replace the missing hole. I know I could have moved the tail housing but the new one has all the bearings pressed into it so I think I will just add the missing hole.
Decided to use Royal Purple Trans 75W90 hope thats a good choice. Since I am down this far I am considering new clutch and perhaps ligher flywheel any comments?
Thanks.. Marty
