Vec 1 questions

I know this a gonna be a dumb question, but here it goes. Does the Vec 1 have different modles for Gen and Gen 2 or does a Vec 1 fit both a gen 1 and 2. I know you have to wire it different for the different gens, but is there a different model? Also, is there a later model Vec 1 like the Vec 2 has upgrades, or is it just a "one size fits all" unit.
