I thought it was cool that, although there were 3 Vipers and umpteen Corvettes in the race, the Vipers got about half the air time!
If you guys did not watch this race (the T1 SCCA race at Mid-Ohio), you should when Speedvision re-airs it. It was a really entertaining race, especially by Deborah Loth.
Comp Coupes will make their inaugural appearance at Skip Thomas' Viper Days event out west at the end of January. The first two cars were delivered (kind of) on December 20th. I believe one is being shipped to Florida and the other to Arizona. All the Comp Coupes are going into the hands of private individuals. These race cars are similar to GT3R's. There are no plans to mount a factory effort in any race sries at this time. I know that Viper Speed has 2 cars scheduled for production to take to the World Challange series. Right know they are looking for sponsorship. That effort will probably be as close to a Professional effort as there is planned right now. In the furture the GTS-R program may be revived.
I can't believe Bobby got second after loosing his power steering on the first lap. Congrats Bobby! There is something to be said for the way a Viper navigates those curves in the hands on someone like Bobby. Very fluid. The vettes looked like they had to man-handle all the curves.
