water pump leak help :-(

ok i was told this is a water pump leak ..http://youtu.be/iAF8Dwel6jQ ..thats the link to the video..my questions are if anyone has had this problem does the water pump from rockauto.com work?? is this a do it yourself job??how much would the dealership charge ?

Geez that's a huge leak, are you sure it's not your upper hose? I would look at getting an OEM pump, it's not that hard of a job to do. I would go ahead and replace the timing chain cover gasket as well.

That does not look like a stereotypical water pump failure; but, I do not wrench for a living. I have only seen slow dripping from a failing water pump shaft seal. Nothing so significant as your video. I guess that it could be the gasket for the water pump or timing chain cover. I like the idea that it is the hose; with that amount of fluid coming out. If it is the pump, I wouldn't be comfortable using a rebuilt water pump like what Rock Auto is selling. The engine is just too expensive for me to risk on a rebuilder.

It isn't hard if your patient and competent. If not, don't do it. The fact that your posting this, tells me your probably in over your head.
