what about Visors

Anybody changed their visors to thinner ones?
I would gain an inch or two of windshield if my GTS visors were thinner.
I'm thinking of just taking them off. I've never been one to use visors anyway.

Also, anyone switch sides with their visors, so your not looking at the airbag warning label all the time?
note: if you flip flopped the visor the warning labels would be facing up, but I'm not sure the corner's would bend enough. I just put black contact paper over mine, (cut to size).

I'd get rid of them. The windshield is so low to begin with that the sun is rarely low enough to be simultaneously below the windshield line and in your line of sight.

I can't think of an instance when I have ever used mine (other than to hold my CD case).

I changed mine to the GenI visors, and I lowered my seat 2", and now I can see...I like using the visors as RT/AC...

If I had a GTS, I would remove them completely...

I don't know about switching the visors, but I tried several ways to get the airbag labels off. The best way I found is to scratch vigorously with your thumbnail. It takes about 30 min. per visor. It might be slow..but it works.

I changed from gen1 visors to gen2. The gen1 visors were kind of old looking and I found a new looking set of gen2 on ebay.
They are big but I find that they deflect the wind much better, keeps my hat from feeling like it's going to blow off.
I plan to remove them for winter, hardtop, time.

How thin are the Gen I visors? Could I just have an upholstery shop take the padding out of my Gen II. I haven't tried it yet but I wonder if it would look strange inside the car without visors

I think a shop could cut down and re cover gen2 visors.
