I have a 05 Yellow SRT-10 Viper with under a 1000 miles on it, got it at 235 miles and recently broke it in.

Since then I have bought the BTR Belanger/Header exhaust system and BTR's 300 shot Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system.

I am going to law school soon so I cant go too crazy with mods so supercharger and twin turbo our out for the time being.

My purposes of my car will be mainly street but also (track purposes). I am planning to buy...

Tripple Adjustable Suspension
B & M Shifter
6 point seat harness and roll bar
Wide Band
Green Filters

I dont plan on doing the head now either but was wondering if just installing cams would be beneficial, and if so what size?

I was also thinking about a differential upgrade, but dont want to spend money on a Quaife, but have seen systems for 800-1400 but I also dont want to change my stock ratio.

Since the 300 shot will bring me pretty high in hp and torque on the stock motor I am mainly focused on suspension related stuff. I have heard that 19 inch drag radials are comming out soon so I dont want to waste money on a expensive 2 tire and rim speal.

I used to have a 978 horsepower supra and a hayabusa gsxr 1300 so a lot of this viper stuff is new to me, I have practiced a lot with it and found a good ratio for launching on the street with the pilots.

Please respond with your feedback!!! thanks

Congratulations and Welcome!

To get the most bang for you $$ in road course performance take a few Skip Barber Driving Schools.

Go to a Viper Days event(or look at their web site and the range of track times in different classes and at different tracks) and look at the lap times. You will very quickly notice that an experienced road course driver will be many seconds per lap faster than a driver(even with 100 more HP) with little track time.

Propane is for the grill and nitrous for whipping creme eh. lol
Seriously, make sure and get yourself a good tune before letting her rip!
You may want to look into a MGW short shifter to allow for a good quick row.

Enjoy the new Viper.

Yea I am going to do the skip barber school when Viper days comes to florida in a few months. I have done plenty of practice with the Viper so far so I have a good idea. In terms of track I meant straight track not a road course but am interested in that in the future. Yea after I get the nitrous installed im going to put it on the dyno to make sure all the air/fuel ratios are conservative and make sure I have a functional wideband. is MGW better than B and M? Let me know about my mods guys no answers yet.

Melbourne Florida, Tom at BTR said the 300 shot has been used on his viper for years on a nearly stock car without any problems. The race fuel and propane keep ratios relatively conservative.

With the money you spent on Belanger Headers and Exhaust system, BTR's 300 shot Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system you could have bought a Paxton Supercharger kit...

The other VCA member that had a BTR Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system on his SRT-10 replaced with a Paxton supercharger first and then replaced that with a RSI twin turbo kit. He still has the BTR Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system for sale...

Believe me you don't need a three way adjustable suspension unless you are digging 0.5 seconds from your lap time with Hoosier slicks. Just buy the Moton Clubsports. But they are not cheap either.

Get the Hurst shifter. Takes a little more time to install but performs much better.

6 point harness will be useful and you will need a Roll Bar or Hardtop to participate in track events. Roll Bar or Hardtop is not cheap either.

Unless you have VEC2 or something better to tune the car, the Wide Band won't do much good.

Green filters, pink filters they are all similar. You will see 0.5 HP increase. :D Forget the Green or Purple filters get the Paxton.

Make a good research, ask a lot of questions on these boards, talk to the Viper owners who have done similar mods and then make your purchase.

Just my $0.02

I did not get a supercharger because of my warrenty, the nitrous can be taken off and on if I want to and is more conveinent for the dollar to power im looking for while I am stock on the motor for the time being.

I have also seen a couple of these kits on cars and have better results than a supercharger (for example the kit down from mine nitrous/propane with only a 200 shot made 675/900tq to the wheels on a stock motor with exhaust only i believe.

Also I dont like superchargers and will get a twin turbo kit in the future, but dont have 20k+ for that right now, but for now nitrous was the best thing for me.

I was thinking about buying TNT's suspension its only 2300 for billet suspension direct bolt on.

A wide band will tell me if im running rich or lean what do you mean it wont do much lol, it saved me plenty of times when I was running 30-44 pounds of boost on my previous supra from blowing it up and most boosted/nitrous cars always have a wideband.

I have done plenty of research and what I have bought so far has been the right choice, in terms of the mods i meantioned those are all mods that people praise to be so great on this board and how it helped their car improve significantly...

On the board people said k and n s hurt you and green filters helped you increase 5 hp

People praise the Quaife and Penskes for better handling and performence.

A lot of People praise nitrous over supercharger as best bang for the buck.

These responses are all found on this forum.

Thanks for the advice, but i have done plenty of research on the board, many many hours, and if i knew the answers to my question I wouldnt of asked it.

Anyone else got some opinions about my question? thanks

Well, you asked for opinions and I gave mine. If you are so confident about your system why do you want opinions and feedback on that?

And I also gave a solid real life example of a VCA New York member who had the same BTR's 300 shot Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system and he replaced with a Paxton kit first and then replaced that with RSI twin turbo kit. His BTR kit is for sale now.

Off course wide band is important. I have one on my car too. All I was saying was you will need a nice stand alone or piggyback system to tune the car in addition to the wide band.

Good luck to you with your
Belanger Headers and Exhaust system
BTR's 300 shot Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system
TNT Tripple Adjustable Suspension
B & M Shifter
6 point seat harness and roll bar
Wide Band
Green Filters

And yeah, you will see a lot of people here praising the BTR Nitrous, Propane, and Gas injection system and TNT Tripple Adjustable Suspension. :nana: :nana:

im wasnt asking in my nitrous and exhaust that ive bought, I was asking about other things I have not bought yet, yea I agree about the piggyback but through experience with past cars I do not trust them and would only rely on a AEM or Motec standalone. I was asking about the suspension, quaife, and cams and other mods cause i was seen what i did or did not need to buy, thanks

Welcome to the board Justin.

Quaife differential definitely gets a ton of praise, so if you're planning on tracking your car it would be a good idea.

It's good to see you're thinking about safety too with the 6 point harness.

If you want a poser mod, the MGW knob is great.

Oh yeah, dump the stock run-flats.

Good luck!

If you are going to do track events, you really do need a roll-bar, and it is alot more convenient than getting a removable hard-top. I would suggest you look into a comp coupe oil pan first, and I agree you need to stay with stock gears if you are going to do track events. Get a MGW shift knob as suggested and we sell a missed shift eliminator kit that many track rats prefer over a full B&M kit. When it comes to suspension the Motons are dyamite and give you both an advantage on the track, as well as a vast improvement on the street. A Quaife or a Racelogic traction control system are both good choices, depending on what you want to spend. The only thing I would not advise is the nitrous, but it is a personal bias as it is hard to warranty with what that little laughing gas does at times, ha.

First expenditure ---- Comp Coupe Oil Pan.

Sincerely,
Bill Pemberton
