what\'s the difference between 94 and 96 rt/10

I have a previous post about trading my 94 for a 96 rt/10. Other than exhaust and interior difference what else did they change. The 96 has borla header's and 3" exhaust but seems to have less torque than my 94. The 96 seems to handle better and is smoother. I seem to remember the 96 having more HP from the factory too, why is that?

I found the window sticker and it came with the hard top from factory, so I went out to our Dodge dealership and looked in the service department where the other set of tires and wheels are and sure enough there was the hard top still in the box. It also has a [******] pit cover.

I have K&N smooth tubes on my 94, should I swap those to the 96 or do they make much difference.

96 RT is a gen 1.5 in that it has gen 2 suspension with upgraded hp to 415 from 400. Also has obvious special appearance package with sabre stripes either white/blue, blk/gold or red/yellow.

Differences:
rear exhaust=415HP vs. 400 (sidepipe)
Gen II suspension
Gen II brakes(words VIPER on the caliper)
Gen II hood(but no cutouts.)

There is other things, but this is off the top of my head.

Also five spoke wheel from three, power steering cooler, stronger diffferential that is more stiffly mounted to the chassis and upgraded drive shafts.

How much HP will the Borla header's and 3" exhaust add?

Should I switch my K&N smooth tubes over?

I sold my 94 and got a 96. The first time I drove the 96 I was sure I could feel the difference in torque also (more in the 94). I have ran them both in the quarter mile and the 96 is about 5 tenths faster. The 96 rides much nicer. The red and yellow gets twice the attention. Both are great cars.

Ahhh, the famous "Mustard and Ketchup" Viper. I am almost positive that those paint scheme Viper's were the rarest color combo. White with blue stripe cars were the most numerous (324) followed by the Black and silver cars.

But most authorities on the '96 cars agree that the White and Blue cars are the fastest. Not to take away from my black brothers but the White cars are also the BEST looking.

BTW... The '96 cars also represent over 200 different changes over the previous year cars.

does the 94 and the 96 rt have the forged motor like the 99 GTS? Is there a difference from 96-97?

There were engine changes in 97 as listed below as well as ammenities such as power windows..etc.

Lightweight engine with higher compression ratio and revised camshaft - 450 BHP (335 kW)

I think he meant to say forged pistons, and yes they all had forged pistons all the way through 1999. Poor 2000+ crowd had only the cast
