I live in Houston so is this going to make the car really hot just cruising around town?
The color combo would be my third favorite. (Red/White, 2002). So from what you guys have said there really isn't going to be that much of a difference because this ACR has A/C and radio. The only difference is going to be the shocks that will be a little harder of a ride and a few other little things, right?
Now my only question is when I go look at the car, do you guys take the car to a dodge dealer or find a local shop for someone to check it out? The problem is that it is just outside of Houston so I don't think I will be able to find a local shop that is used to dealing with a viper. What do you guys recommend?
My car's AC does just fine in the summer, so I wouldn't worry about that. The 2002 has the DS suspension, and the rear springs are 1100 lb springs vs. the GTS's 700 lb springs ( I believe that's the correct number). They are, in a word....STIFF. Some here will say they are unsafe for street use.
I have a "Viper buyers checklist" that I put together when I was shopping. It's pretty comprehensive, but if you have the time and the inclination, take it to a Dodge dealer with a Viper tech on staff or at the very least, contact the local VCA chapter and find a Viper owner who can go look over the car with you.
The Houston chapter's President is Jim Boeker (email is jlb252 AT aol.com).
