Ok so here is the scenario: had a bit of light curb rash on a rim it's a 5 spoker. The small area of rash was smoothed out with a sander and wet sanded then a metal polish was applied on. I know our rims are clearcoated aluminum but with the sanding the clear coat is gone, so i've read a bit online and they say if it's aluminum use aluminum, and if it's clearcoated aluminum use a plastic polisher like from mothers "plastic polish".
So my question to you all is this, do i use a aluminium/metal polish on that small sanded area and then use plastic polish on the rest of the rims?
Does anyone use special products on our clearcoated aluminum rims or do you just apply a coat of wax and be done with it?

Your thoughts and inputs are appreciated.
