Hey guys,

I really want to get an on board wideband unit but the only thing stopping me now is where to mount it. I have the MBX steering wheel gauge mount with a boost gauge in there because i did NOT want an A-pillar gauge mount.

Where have you guys installed these things? I havent decided on brand yet either cause it may depend on the display unit itself, im not sure a round gauge will work anywhere.

Any ideas or thoughts? just wondering if anyone had some cool installs anywhere.

Put it in place of the voltmeter. Now for reality, an a/f gauge is eye candy and is worthless (an opinion) for tuning, you have to log a/f along with rpm and throttle position to make sense out of the relationships.

The faster the car gets the less usable the a/f gauge becomes. Even with logging a/f is hard to interpret. The two additional parameters (rpm and throttle position)are the minimum needed, IAT, coolant temp and fuel pressure are also nice to have. Most of this data is already available from the PCM since most of the aforementioned are an analog 0-5V output.

The Innovate a/f system has this capability, the LM1 is the a/f system, the LM3 is the data recorder and the XD1 is the gauge which can be used to start the logging.
