Who\'s converted to Side Exhaust?

A customer of mine wants to convert to side exhaust by just cutting out the aluminum sills.I've seen that done but with a polished and rivited plate,I assume keeps the hole clean looking and can be easily cleaned from exhaust soot,any pics or advice.Also i'm concerned with sound, his existing Borla XR1 mufflers,that are loud enough now at the rear,Thanks.

Now I remember seeing Archer Racings car with the Plate rivited,maybe a stainless piece would look good?
