A big grey crate showed up at the dealership late yesterday. I was at the shop today when they popped it open, and showed me a nice, freshly rebuilt motor. :D I'm estatic that it's back; it's been a long 10 weeks. It looks like a lot of new components and accessories were put on, and with the new goodies I got while the car was down, it should be pretty sweet when all assembled. They should be able to start on re-assembly tomorrow, and with any luck, I should have it back by the weekend (or so I hope). The only disappointment so far is that the valve covers look completely messed up; large sections of pain have flaked off, and there are a number of other sections that are bubbling. :( Looks like I need to find a painter...

The other killer is the break-in procedure. 2.5k rev limit for the first 200 miles? I think that is going to be harder than waiting for the engine to come back! And of course, what oil to use when breaking in the engine; hmmm, will that stir as big a debate as it does on the Porsche list? I'm just hoping the weather stays good for the weekend!

I'd stick with the Mobil 1 factory fill for the first 500 miles, then go w/ a Mobil 1 filter and oil change.
:)
Good to hear you got the car back, I think I'd shoot someone if I had to go 10 weeks without my Viper.

Aww come on, it's only 200 miles. You can do that in a day :) Here's one opinion on break in procedure Click here :usa:

The break in procedure is definitely hard to stick with, especially when you've been without the car for two months.
