Many of you don't read all the forums, so those of you in southern Cali or surrounding areas, there's a great local event where a big group of us are getting together for a day of Drag Racing. We decided to put this on because the local event draws over 400 cars, and you're lucky to get 3 runs down the track in an 8 hour period. What Alan and crew have done is limit the car to 55 to 70 cars, ensuring that each driver can get a dozen or more runs down the track if he/she desures. It's on Friday, September 17th, from 3pm till 11pm.

This event is open to other cars so you'll be seeing Vettes, Mustangs, Ferraris, and a few other vehicles. We're hoping there will be a few motorcycles on hand as we're allows grudge matches of car vs. bike !!

In the end, it will be a great place to meet new people, do some networking (write this event off) and just plain have fun!

The event has only been open for registration 3 full days now and it's nearly half full, so please go to the site below and sign up today, as there will be no exceptions to allowing more than the 70 car limit. I'll be bringing two of my Vipers (DLM car and possibly by 783RWHP Gen 1 Nitrous car or the SRT-10.)

For those of you in the San Diego area, there will be a large group of us leaving at the same time to caravan up to Fontana.

It would be interesting to see a Roe, Paxton, or Heffner Viper VS Manny's DLM Viper. Don't worry guys, Manny can't drive

I've got three runs total in my lifetime in. High 12's. The one time I went, I spent 8 hours and got three runs in. Never went back.

Smaller group? Sounds great. I'd like to come and improve.

Where's all our lead-footers??? For those who have been thinking about doing it, what are you waiting for? A private dragstrip event doesn't come by often. The sooner we can fulfill the minimum signup requirement, the sooner we can be sure to make it happen. Don't wait, sign up now, we've got a bunch of Vipers signed-up and more would make it better...come join, let's make it happen and have some fun out there!

RT/10 and SRT owners: Here's your big chance. NHRA has put the new "Pure Stock" class into effect. No rollbar is required if you run under the new "Pure Stock" rules. Before, any roadster/convertible that ran a 13.99 or quicker, required a NHRA approved rollbar. But not anymore. This new class takes manufacturer safety engineering into account. Also, any vehicle that falls under this class are allowed a few "minor" mods (i.e. catback exhaust, K&amp;N/smooth tubes, DOT drag radials...) 11.49 is the breakout time for this class, just don't run quicker or else you'll be bumped up to the ET Streets rule. This will be a great place to get better acquainted with your right foot that you've been holding back all this time. No big crowds (or traffic), limited signup and plenty of run time!

how strict are they going to be on the nhra rules? will they let you run 10's without a roll bar?

Very strict. It's the track officials' job to enforce this.

No. If you do this, say adios to your run card. The breakout time without a rollbar is 11.49.

Not only did we reach the 55 minimum car requirement, we hit the 70 car max limit, so this event is officially sold out. Lots of great cars coming out. It will be fun to watch the new C6 Vette going up against some of the stock Vipers. There are a few Bikes that will give the fastest cars a run for their money, and of course a Ferrari or two in there that all Viper guys want a piece of.

Looks like the event is going to be a blast with tons of runs for everybody.

Those of you who didn't sign up, be sure to do so for the next event, and do it early, as it sells out fast as you can see.
