I would like to know what is your opinion of these Hoosier A3S04 TIRES for road race.

Can this tire be used for "moderate" drag racing ?
Due to my break set up I have to use min 18'' wheels.

A's are autocross tires, the tires that start with R are road race. Although I have heard the "A" tires are good qualifying tires

I wouldn't use A3S04's for any road race of more than a couple of laps - you'd normally want to use a set of Rs, which can handle the higher heat range. A's are the autocross tire and require almost no heating to grip well, but will wear out a lot faster than the R's in any road-race situation - they will get greasy on a Viper under hard use.

And, as Janni mentions, those are likely old tires - At least a year, if not two years old. In my limited experience, Hoosiers (as well as most grippy tires), get VERY non-grippy and hard as they get old, even if stored sealed and in a cool area. If you are going to put on track tires, it rarely makes sense to put on any that aren't going to be the grippiest they can be.
