Took the Viper ('96 RT/10) out the other day to warm it up as it has been sitting for almost two months and it started to rain. When I turned on the wipers the passenger side went slower and appeared to be struggling. This caused them to get out of time and the blades got tangled. Has anyone...
Spun mine twice. Partially because I'm used to a Porsche 911 that has gobs of rear traction and the other because of cold rear tires. I believe the Viper needs more time to warm the rear tires because of the huge size. In fair summer weather mine still needs more than 15 minutes of spirited...
Forged BBS wheels are only made in Germany or in Japan. The cast variety are made in various places by BBS or under contract. As for their quality, BBS forged wheels are considered about the best in the world. If you look on most racing cars as in world class GT1, GT2, GT3, and Formula 1 you...
As mentioned above I would highly recommend something like Griot's speed wax or Meguires final show spray for the lubrication. That is what Meguires and Griot's both recommend and it does work great. MGH
They look just like the out of production ****** headers that are on my car. The collector looks identical although the ****** headers were ceramic coated. I wonder if Borla bought the ****** design as ****** last made these 2 or 3 years ago? MGH
Re: Difference between Mopar T&D\'s and T&D\'s
Not much horsepower increase. I've heard around 25bhp mentioned. But it gives you more confidence knowing that there is less friction in the system and with the roller on the valve tip there has to be a fair amount of less wear in the valve guide...
Although 'Purdue Viper', the Viper is normally aspirated stock. Most all Turbo cars can have large horsepower increases from increasing boost with their chips which is almost all from boost increase and very little from timing and such. Whereas normall aspirated cars see little increases. I own...
Just got around to measuring one cylinder's pushrods in preparation for my Harland Sharp rocker install (Intake & Exhaust). It looks like I need about 7.3"~7.4" pushrods for my '96 RT/10. Does this seem shorter than normal. The stock rockers pulled out of that cylinder were slightly under...
I would check your HVAC controls as mine is a '96 RT/10 and I don't have that problem. The controls are kind of weird. If I have it in off or vent(first click to the left) or in A/C it is fine but if I have it in heat (first click to the right of off) it will blow some warm air even with the...
When I installed Headers and a Borla exhaust on my car I removed the Cats and replaced them with a Stainless straight pipe that even though it was only about 17" long I had them ceramic coated to reduce the radiant heat and it has made a noticeable difference. The sills still get warm but not...
Chad, I'm not an expert but I don't think that a '96 RT/10 has a plain jane Gen 1 computer. I believe it is almost a Gen 2 due to the addition of OBDII in '96. Maybe someone more knowledgable will pipe in with part #'s. I am interested to find this out also as I have a '96 RT. MGH
Re: What\'s your choice of fluids?
I'm sorry to hear that somebody was bad mouthing Redline. I have been using Redline in my Porsches for over 15 years including a lot of track time. And the Society of Automotive Engineers seems to agree with me as their oil tests show that Redline exceeds...
Re: What\'s your choice of fluids?
Bonkers I don't know where or what you have heard about Redline but if you check the SAE spec sheets, Redline exceeds Mobil 1 in all categories. Some by a large margin. Most Mobil 1 weights do not even meet the new European oil requirements and the others...
