Important note from our friends at SRT: The rest of the '08 colors are now being added to the ordering system effective immediately! Order ANY remaining color you like, including those awesome colors of Viper Violet, Very Orange, Viper Bright Blue, Viper Red, and Viper Black. Snakeskin Green Metallic is still available (and looks GREAT on the car itself - of that I can assure you), as is the beautiful Venom Red. Now while you can order those colors now, production will still maintain the previously announced staggered introduction:

Available at launch:
  • New Snakeskin Green Pearl Coat
  • New Venom Red Metallic Clear Coat
  • Viper GTS Blue Pearl Coat (orders now closed for this color)
Fall introduction:
  • Viper Black Clear Coat
  • New Viper Violet Pearl Coat
Winter introduction:
  • Classic Viper Red Clear Coat
  • New Viper Very Orange Pearl Coat
Spring ’08 introduction
  • New Viper Bright Blue Metallic Pearl Coat
So place those orders now for the best Viper EVER produced with more options than any time in history. Indeed, mathematically speaking it is possible for every single Viper produced for 2008 to be unique. But every single one of them will be producing at least 600 HP - now that is a nice feature to share! :2tu:

Chris, is there a place to go to actually see the color swatches? I'm seriously thinking about calling Bill and putting down a deposit but I want to see what the orange looks like, and not a photoshop either :2tu:

My 1969 Corvette in paint code 990/Monaco Orange was soooo cool.

Orange looks great! Very similar to the "Hugger Orange" of 1969, although with some nice metalflake/pearl in it...

So - Coupe or Roadster?

Is GTS Blue still "closed" or has it been re-opened too?

Rich, got it, but, title of thread is "ALL colors now available"...so, what's the official word on GTS Butane Blue? Looks a little confusing, why would "ALL" not include GTS Blue?

I think "all" refers to all remaining colors beyond those available in the initial production run (green, venom red and GTS Blue). I don't believe that would change the fact that GTS Blue orders closed as of June 1. Maybe Chris (Y2K5SRT) can confirm this.

Sorry,

This is still not up and running. There have been glitches and it was supposedly going to be corrected last week. The only colors available , currently are the first three , plus black, and though it may happen later today, at present, these are the only 4 that can be done.

They are working on it diligently, but they are not just adding colors, they are adding interiors, and they have to input in the system a warning system to clue Dealers in that a specific color may be ordered but it will not be built until later. Different program than used ever before, so that is why there are some delays/issues.

Sincerely,
Bill Pemberton

What do you mean "all"? I don't see that anywhere in the thread title... :doh2:

Corrected the title to reflect the reality: The remaining colors (NOT GTS BLUE) are available for order now. Have fun!

Hey Chris-
Why are they artificially limiting the GTS blue? How many units of a color need to be ordered before it's closed? How did that number get picked? WHY?

It's clear I won't be ordering an '08 now!

My Dearest Paul -

I don't believe that there is any artificial limit to the number of cars produced in a certain color. The simple fact is that there will be a limited number of Vipers built overall for 2008. No more Vipers sitting in storage areas waiting for buyers, they are basically building to order and want to make sure that all colors are available. Let's say, just for fun, that they figure around 1800 Vipers for the 2008 model year. They have eight colors available. So let's then say that 1000 people order red and 500 order blue. That leaves only 300 cars for six other colors. They could very easily sell out of cars before any of the other colors are produced.

Now I don't know the exact rhyme or reason to the quantity - nor how it is determined. Perhaps it is because there are already 300+ GTS Blue SRT's on the streets and they want to emphasize some other colors. Maybe they will limit Viper Red and Viper Black too - I honestly have no idea. What I do know is that they want everybody to have a shot at getting the color they want. The timing is another story altogether.

Won't be ordering an '08? Most definitely your loss and sorry I couldn't be of more help... :dunno:

Great answer from Chris and keep in mind , even though Vipers are handbuilt they have to work with suppliers, buy x amount of product , and with a low volume vehicle like the Snake, one has to give fairly reliable estimates on what will be needed. To offer us , as customers, 8 different colors , with only a set amount of vehicles being built, the orders had to be placed prior to the initial offering. Hence we will have a more limited number of cars in various colors simply due to the math.

What is cool, is this limited production vehicle we so love, will have many more unique and unusual variations running around from 2008 forward.:2tu:

Paul--We were given notice on May 22 that GTS Blue was to be unavailable as of June 1. If you really want that color, I'm sure you will find it in the classifieds or on Ebay after the cars start to be released. There will be plenty ordered, for resale, because it's a known color. I wasn't thrilled with the way Dodge handled the Blue/White and Red/White Coupe color issue, but others were, and we beat that to death on this forum. I rolled with the punch, and am happy to have a GTS Blue on order. Good luck!:2tu:

at what price?on e-bay
you would think paint options would be the last thing they would factor in to at least make you think they weren't selling assembly line vehicles.
