Re: Viper at RomarRacing!!

Good thing to have the snake back in its lair all safe and sound!
Will upgrading to the VEC 3 solve any of thei issues w/ the VEC? My only issue w/ my VEC was that Kyle was not in the correct map for n/a motors and could not adjust anything. But Kyle and Joseph are aware of that issue w/ the VECs now. I am sure Sean Roe will assist you in getting the most out of your VEC. I picked up 50 more rwhp once they got my VEC 3 issues resolved. But I thought for Gen 3's the VEC 3 was the correct version..am I mistaken?

Mike/Juli, nice numbers! Kyle is certainly cautious. He was hesitant to touch my Vec3 last year because he wasn't too familiar with the Vec3 IAT feature which I don't care for, right now. I'm going to visit him this spring. Just email Sean your Dyno sheet and any accompanying log files (not sure if the Vec2 has logging) and he'll fine tune your Vec for you. JD, Sean, Kyle, etc. are all good guys.

You can use the VEC2 OR VEC3 with GenIII's. VEC3 is an updated version...tho there have been problems with that also. Tony: I will keep that in mind about emailing Sean the dyno runfiles (yes there are some) and the dyno sheets...but we're pretty satisfied with how things turned out and don't wish to mess around any more with the VEC. Probably Sean should know the VEC2 was not working properly...agreed. And, yes again, he's also very very good at trying to resolve issues. Thanx guys. ~juli

THANX Mary!!! Yeah, mostly thruway driving, and they salt the heck out of it, so that's the safest road around....and the longest drive we have is on that road. Glad we're back, now we can let the BEAST sleep again~~LOL! Hope YOU are having better weather and able to get YOUR cars out there???? :drive::drive: ~juli

No bath, but a good cleaning!! With all that salt, we ALWAYS get it off ASAP...and this is the first year the Viper's been in ANY kind of salty/cold weather. Good thing we weren't much later coming back, it's TOTAL ICE out there now!!! Thank you for your concern!
(For our BEAST as well...LOL!).....juli

if u email your run files to Sean he can fine tune them very specifically. Once Sean sees the data he will know exactly what to do to squeak out all the power thats left on the table. It may take another trip back to Kyle (I know, PITA:() but well worth it to get your Viper running like she is capable of, get your moneys worth for the mods...dont let the puter snifle power from you! Your numbers are still very good however...but I know zactly how u feel...and if the power is there...go get it!

Re: Viper at RomarRacing!!

I have emailed Sean the runfiles he's requested...we'll see, there does NOT seem to be anything drasticallly wrong with the VEC, it's just not responding 100%. I'm sure he can help, but right now, no, we're not thinking of returning and having it tuned again...it's fine the way it is~~thank you, Keith, as always for your support! ~juli

Re: Viper at RomarRacing!!

So what numbers should you be seeing with those upgrades, they look good to me. What is not responding 100% as far as the VEC goes? Just curious as to what it is not doing. I am sure all will be fine. Also what kind of dyno was this on? A dynojet? A Mustang Dyno? Just wondering why stock dyno showed 425rwhp, that does seem a little low doesnt it? Nothing against your viper of course. Maybe it was conditions or something. What was your stock rwtq? Sorry for all of the questions. You have an awesome viper as it reminds me of one, oh yeah mine ;)

Re: Viper at RomarRacing!!

We are not disparaging the numbers we've gotten, but we had thought we'd pull a bit more out of the VEC tune. The VEC doesn't seem to be working in areas we do not know...hence, the runfiles to Sean.
It HAS worked in some areas, and yes, it's a VERY good gain from stock. Actually, we were told the stock figures were pretty good...tq, I do not remember what it was stock, and unfortunately, I cannot find the dyno graphs from stock run. We're content with what we have, just knowing the VEC may not be giving 100% is troublesome...but not an urgent matter! It was a DynoJet dyno. Our car is NOwhere where YOUR car is~~!!! Talk about awesome!!! We'll admit we expected around 500rwhp, the tq is great. NO problem with questions!!! How do we learn? And, I'm sorry I cannot give complete answers...some are unknown at this time! All in all...we are content. ~juli

Re: Viper at RomarRacing!!

Again I think those are very respectable numbers you have. I am sure Sean will figure it out and you will see 500rwhp. Keep in mind I have to use Nitrous to be able to keep up with you, without the juice you would leave me standing ;) You have a very respectable car and numbers. I can understand that the VEC not giving you 100% would be worrying. You after all should expect 100% out of it and none less. I wouldn't say your car is NOwhere near mine, far from that in fact. Your car has a better sound, has the exhaust and headers I want, has a tune, etc, I just have a standard NX Nitrous kit and a GPS NAV, other than that it is stock. Soon though some mods will come. I already have some of the parts that I have been collecting here and there, and soon the car will be going to a shop to get them installed. Keep us posted Juli :)

Re: Viper at RomarRacing!!

Yes, the numbers are fine and respectable, agreed...thank you for your kind words, Co-Nos!!!! It's certainly fast and reliable enough, where no more changes are needed. The VEC could be sent back to roeracing for upgrade to VEC3, but we'll leave it as it is...we are NOT discouraged by any means.
Bet you cannot wait to add the mods you have waiting! You are very correct: we LOVE the sound!!! LOVE how starting it up in the garage makes the whole house SHAKE~~LOL! NO worries...thanx for your interest....hope you come home soon. ~juli
