Was wondering what people thought about the option of a polished lip or a chrome lip on aftermarket rims.............

I was thinking polished in case of damage but then again is there a alot of up keep with polished?
Also do most of you with aftermarket wheels get the inside of the wheel polished? Or do you not see much of it. I'm sure it will depend on the type of wheel but basically it will be a 5 or 6 star rim.

thanks, I never would have thought this would be so hard to order a set of wheels.....

Here's my $.02: CHROME! Polished looks excellent when new, but is much harder to maintain that new look finish. After a year or so, polished looks somewhat dull compared to chrome. I just bought new rims because I hated my iForged - partly because they were polished, not chrome. That's a very long story - but iForged sent me rims with chrome centers and polished lips. At first I did not notice, but over time it became obvious (to my critical eye), and iForged refused to rectify the situation.

So, I sold 'em quite cheap and got a new set (Forgelines) fully chromed - in fact, they just arrived today.

I did the polished barrels - even though I think it's probably a waste of $$. I like the shine, but the average person does not notice the difference.

You will not be disappointed with chrome. The bling difference is minimal.

Jim------Thanks. I have decided to go with the chrome lip with the gun metal centers (forgeline sp3p's).
How long did it take 6-8 weeks for your wheels? I also saw that the pzero tire is back in stock at parts rack. So now I'm unsure which tire to go with....................:(

NICE WHEEL! In the gun metal center it is one of my favorites.

Go with the Pzero's if you can. I've run the P-zero's and the PS2. The Pzeros fit better and perform quite well. The PS2 are a better tire but don't fit quite right.

The Nitto Invos look cool but from what I hear they have to be run at higher pressure to get the right amount of stiffness in the tire....they are a luxury /performance tire not an all out performance tire like the other two.

I ordered mine from Jon B a day or two after Christmas. They arrived today - so 7-8 weeks from forgeline. I went with the Nittos - they are being mounted tomorrow. Hope to have them on the car this weekend and I'll get some pics going.

I almost did gunmetal, but decided it was too much with my B/W coupe.

Well with this beautiful weather here in Ohio I have plenty of time to get the wheels ordered and on the car. Problem is that I will need to lower the car at the same time Or i will not be happy with the look with the new wheels only. So i'm trying to figure out the route I want to take with that.

Yes the gunmetal would have been to much IMO on a B/W coupe. I have a silver srt so I think the Gunmetal will go great with that color, I may even stripe the car in Gunmetal stripes........?? will see
