I'm interested in installing these Momo pedals in my 2001 RT/10...momo DNA pedals.

You must be registered for see images

I haven't been able to find installation instructions (with pictures) for after market pedal kits. I know it's been done...especially since the OE pedals are, IMO, crap.
Is there any fabrication that needs to be done?
Will I be able to just drill a few holes to get them installed?

Thanks for any help...

Matter of fact I have some red Grand Prix I'm fixing to install on my car. For the clutch and brake simply pull the OE rubber pad, and drill the appropriate holes to match the pedals. The accelerator pedal, at least with my set, is more complicated. The Momo pedal is curved and the OE pedal is flat. Yes, you could just once again drill some holes and be done with it, but IMO that would look crappy. Let alone the OE pedal is taller. So what I'm going to do is cut the OE pedal down to match the Momo height. From there, 2 small screws.

One other thing I did to ensure I get the accelerator pedal in the correct hight position was to tape foil AC tape to it with horizontal lines scribed on it every 1/2" with a grease pencil. When I pull the tape off I'll be able to see the wear pattern where my foot hits.

If you need some detailed pics of my pedals let me know. They're right behind me. I'll have to set my beer down to shoot the pic though. :(

Dave,

Is your post count correct?? If that is, that is CRAZY! I am on quite a few motorcycle forums, etc. and have never seen anyone with anything CLOSE.

Not being negative...You ALWAYS have great advice, etc. AND a nice Viper!

"EDIT" - Can't be right...No possible way!

Dave,

I see what you mean about the size of the accelerator pedal...the OE pedal is approximately 6" x 2" and the Momo pedal is 4 5/8" x 2 1/8". Is your plan to attach the Momo pedal directly to the OE (plastic) pedal after you've trimmed it?

What I might do is mold or cut or ??? something to fit the curved back profile of the Momo accelerator pedal and make it flat so it lays against the OE pedal better. From there, I may use some thread cutting screws into the plastic OE pedal. I've looked on the back side of it and there is a lot of reinforcement webbing, meaning finding a flat vacant spot to put a machine screw nut would be scarce.

Where are the rubber pads that come stock on the clutch and brake? If you've been driving on the sheet metal pedals then try the pads first!

I removed the pads in preparation for the installation. My new Momo's haven't been delivered yet. I did notice that the backside of the accelerator has the webbing...

It will probably take a little fabrication to get the OE pedal ready to accept the new Momo. It will need to be trimmed and then both the top and bottom of what's left will need to be shaved so that the curved Momo will attach cleaner.

That's why I'm thinking just some self tapping/thread cutting screws might be good for the gas pedal into the OE plastic. As long as you don't drill into the pivot shaft or spring you don't need a flat spot for the nut on the back.

Dave,

The Momo's were delivered today. I was able to bend the Momo accelerator pedal flat with just a little pressure. I think I'm going to trim the OE accelerator pedal just enough to be hidden by the Momo and install them flat together...no curvature.

Those pedals look pretty but are of likely little use since they are so far appart. See Autovation pedals.Possibly you can return them and get your money back. GTS Bruce

I never gave it a thought. I do an exotic car day once in a while but heel and toe and or left foot brake during normal driving. Old skills need to be refreshened once in a while and I found the original pedals so widely spaced especialy gas and brake to be mostly useless for smooth driving. I am always doing a throttle blip while braking and downshifting. AND IMHO the autovation pedals look better anyway.I am sure that I could not bridge the gap between brake and throttle with those momo pedals and yes the momo look better than stock. Heck removing the rubber from the clutch and brake made them better than stock giving more feel and alowing your feet to slide across them easier. GTS Bruce

If you have the Autovation pedals in your current Viper, perhaps you could post a pic ? I agree that I would want more functionality, and would be interested in your solution.

Never really thought about this until I read the post. Who can suggest a site that has a good selection and best prices. I'm not looking for the race pedals, just something not OEM... :eater:

I got my pedals from gomiata dot com. If you can handle the pain of clicking that title they have the best price and included shipping.
