I am looking to purchase a set of coilovers for my 08 Coupe to set it up for the track. I also own an 09 ACR and I have been happy with the KW coilovers. I am considering the following options and wanted any feedback from experience:

I believe these are sorted in increasing price:
1. KW variant 2
2. Moton Clubsport
3. KW variant 3
4. Mopar KW
5. Moton Motorsport

Most people I have spoken with believe the Moton Clubsport to be the best all around choice. Is the Moton Clubsport as track worthy as the Mopar KW? Also are the variant 2 single adjustable and variant 3 are double adjustable?

Thanks,
David

Moton Clubsport will be all you'll ever likely need.

I don't care for any of the KW's. They are street shocks, not race shocks.

I too have a 09 ACR Graphite / black / red driver's strip. I will likely sell the KW's that came on the ACR and buy Moton Motorsports - but I intend to track the heck out of this car.

My understanding is that the Clubsports are double adjustable and the Motorsports are triple adjustable. Are there any others difference, like quality of components, range of adjustment?

FOR THE TRACK, where you INTEND to use the wider adjustabilty, repeat: USE it, you cannot beat Motons (from your list). Keep a shock-log-book. really. Cost aside, from your list, do MOTON MOTORSPORTS or CLUB SPORTS for a track rat's car.

Occasional track, mostly Street use? Or set-and-forget? KW V2 under $3100 !

Yes. With the help of Mark J. at Woodhouse, there is a place to mount them on the side fenderwells. Here is a pic of Marks setup using the current genIII brackets. My plan is to modify them slightly based on markets comments but they do work fine. I have some other folks doing an install on a few 08s and will get some feedback from them also.

BTW; Have you developed Moton brackets for the Gen IV cars yet Nader, like your Gen III brackets?

The MOTON Motorsports are the best choice for the track, they have tons more adjustment range and are triples even quads if you want them! The downside of the motor sports for a street track car are the expense of the maintenance. The track shocks valving is stiffer and will make the ride harsh along with wearing out the valving precision in short order on the street. The KW race shocks on the ACR are great also as proven by the record at the RING! They are a bit of a compromise in my eyes though because the street usability would obviously give away a little bit of precision and smoothness on the track.

For the street track car I would not recommend ANYTHING AT ALL over the MOTON Clubsports. They have the BEST range of adjustment and are by far the best riding shock there is for the VIPER on and off the track, I don't sell ANYTHING else for that reason and have chosen them for my car for all the same reasons.

So the Moton Motorsports would wear quickly with street driving; whereas, the Clubsport are considered more durable for street use and still work great on the track? I only expect to put 2 thousand miles a year on the car, would you still expect the Motorsports to need regular rebuilding, ie. once a year or more?

Thanks,

What settings are you guys using with the Clubsports for "Cushy Street", Agressive Street, Autocross, 1/4 Mile, and Aggressive Track?

This question will be answered different with different spring choices. The real trick is to get springs that are a good match for the valving choices you have in each shock to insure you are not relying on the shock to do the springs work. With the choices we use the bump settings are 3 front and 4 rear. Rebound is 3 and 3 and this is a great track street compromise. For the track you would want to up the rebound a bit but the compression would stay the same.
