I want to get some aftermarket wheels for my stripeless GTS blue coupe. The thing is im having a hard time choosing what wheels/color wheels to go with the car. If i had a white or red viper it would be an easy pic, but im having a hard time choosing what wheels to go with my blue car. Anyone have pics of their GTS blue car with wheels on it?

Before the Search ****'s tell me something, yes i searched before i posted this and didn't come up with much.

The posers on this board will suggest some oversized tripple chrome blingy crap that makes your brakes look like they belong on a bicycle.

Exactly:

iforged monaco's 20" mines a GTS but it's the same color...

Stock brakes look crappy, but they work the same as they did before new rims, so unless you're tracking it.. they're fine.

Mine has 19"/20" iForged "Astra" wheels. Brushed/clearcoated centers with a polished lip. I'm an iForged dealer.

May I suggest some oversized triple chrome wheels?

And a spelling class for Chuck?

Really though, grammar and spelling aside, I think chrome or polished is the way to go on the blue. I have also seen white wheels that looked good but they would be a PITA to keep clean. Chrome with blue calipers would be witchin...

I'd be more than happy to take some time with you to go over a few options... We are a master distributor for a handful of different wheel companies and they run the gambit of different styles for different tastes.

Personally, I'd love to see a set of DPE wheels on a Gen3... They have so many different cool options you can do with finishes that really makes the wheel your own...

Hey, what do you know, 2 of my photos :D

I'm thinking about the same thing, as some new shoes would be nice. Below is a photo of Nineball's wheel design, in CCW's polished look. It is a nice looking wheel, but I like 5 spoked wheels.

One clean HRE design I like, on Walt's UGR TT Viper.

I'd like to see some more photos as well. :2tu:

Malu, those HRE's look great. I'm considering a set of their 1-piece forged P40 wheels for my Viper next. I'm sort of a wheel-*****, I like changing them around a lot. I'd go brushed finish though, looks more performance-inspired and less bling-tastic.

Tony, I do like the P40's a lot, and on the Orange and Bright Blue the black finish looks very nice as well. I know you clean wheels a lot like I do, and that would be the only reason I wouldn't get them. I hate cleaning the BBS style wheels on my brother's M3, and it is especially difficult behind the spokes (my hands barely fit through). Hopefully you get them on before the Viper Round-Up, as I'd love to see them in person with the brushed finish :2tu:

The old rims worked fine too and they didn't look crappy. Now with bigazz rims and a puny little brake disc it looks crappy. Not meaning to offend but do you see my point?

JMO, but I don't think guys are thinking things all the way through when they stick on those bigazz wheels.

Just for reference, these are not aftermarket rims but are the Sidewinder/ACR rims painted in a regular silver finish, not chrome or polished:

I got new rims because my rims were crappy... Previous owner tried cleaning it without realizing there's a clear coat on them... otherwise I wouldn't have replaced them.

That puny little brake disk was on there stock and it looked fine... I don't see the point of upgrading the brakes when I'm not tracking it. Definitely not worth the money for the, IMO, little cosmetic effect it has. Not meaning to offend but do you see my point? It'll probably be an upgrade in the future, but it's not a priority for MY needs.

We differ.

Regardless, I hear you on crappy rims. I have some 98 stockers that I thought I could clean the rust off with the tools I have. Nope. I think I'm too old to put the effort in. Instead I'll send them to Purner someday.

Anyways, I hope you put some of Dave's big brakes on your Viper someday. I think you'll be more impressed with the looks of brakes filling the gaps than the big wheels.

Honestly, that doesn't look any more silly than some of the Viper combos I've seen.

this is coming from the guy with the honda spoiler on his viper.

im not trying to call you out but im just saying, if you dont have something nice to say about wheels on a car dont come on here and say that wheels on a viper looks like those donked cars.

Get a car and track first, then your opinion might be worth something.

And believe me, I was being nice. If I wasn't being nice I would have said big wheels with puny brakes is the dorkiest combination anyone could ever do to a car designed with only performance in mind. And even that response is watered down for this board.

Now go do your homework so your teacher doesn't send you home with a note for your mommy.

All due respect. This crap with you bashing people who like 19's or 20's is getting old. What about that hideous WWI Bi plane wing you have on your car.

Yes its functional, but looks like CRAP.

I cant speak for anyone else, but after looking at your GTS..I cannot see were you would qualify for the Viper style police.

We know big brakes look better..give it a rest!

So, if we track our cars, our opinions are worth more? I track all of my performance cars, guess that makes me super-guru on wheel opinions eh? How about this, get a track set and a street set. I know, brilliant idea! Some of us like large multi-piece wheels for daily use, so quit being an ass.

And believe me, I was being nice. If I wasn't being nice I would have said big wheels with puny brakes is the dorkiest combination anyone could ever do to a car designed with only performance in mind. And even that response is watered down for this board.

Viper was designed with ONLY performance in mind? Sure is funny that it came with A/C, painted stripes, metallic paint options, leather seats, a CD player, power windows, exotic styling, blah blah....none of which are "performance" requirements. The Viper is just as much about styling and making a visual statement than it is about being a strict performance-only vehicle.

Now go do your homework so your teacher doesn't send you home with a note for your mommy.

I can guarantee that an **** with a condescending attitude towards others is far less desirable than big aftermarket wheels on this forum. How about you take a hike?

I doubt Chuck considers his GTS to be his business card for representing the style side of his opinion. More than likely it's his office at the track.

Chuck?

LOL It's hilarious that I get bashed for my tracker that has slapped walls and done numerous kitty litter runs for ten years but nothing is said about my bone stock 117,000 mile RT/10. I guess that's to be expected from posers without a clue (as opposed to posers with a clue who know enough to stay out of the deep end).

Someone comes to the internet and says "Hey, everybody! Whatcha think of my [insert mod of choice here]" and then they cry like babies when criticized. Any real man would appreciate the criticism and either see the point or take it with a grain of salt. Seems like the real men buying Vipers these days are beginning to get outnumbered.

Yes, I'm gonna point out mods I believe to be stupid. Don't like it? Try the Corvette forum. I think they have a section specifically for sandy you-know-whats.

Now, feel free to bash my GTS which I track about ten times a year. And feel free to bash my daily driver RT/10. Trust me nothing anyone says about what I do or have done with either Viper will offend me. Nothing.

OMT, big wheels and puny brakes look stupid and they look really stupid on a sports car.

Not sure if you considered the 2000+ 18" original Viper wheels. I think these look better than the 17" stock wheels on the car due to the size:

I like how an ***** like this can tell someone that has their car plastered at the top of the page in the banner for this site to take a hike :lmao:

nineball, maybe you should be the one to take a hike,
:flush:
'cause I don't think Chuck is leaving the Viper community anytime soon

Once again, it is hard to understand why we actually PAY to be members in a club that allows this nonsense on the message board. Chuck may enjoy taking his Viper around the track, hell he might be the most awesome Viper owner in the world, but that does not excuse him from being rude and offending to others in a PAID MEMBERSHIP club. Seems like this type of behavior is all too common here.

I don't mind his negative opinion on the subject, but what is the point of repeating it over and over? Hell, I think the bi-plane wing and the stock RT/10 wheels on his cars are horrible, but I only need to state that opinion once and move on. BTW, if you read Chuck's website he is looking for car sponsors. He even mentions he is one of the most avid posters on the VCA site. I'm the type of person that does sponsor cars and racing events, and I'd never consider sponsoring someone who represents himself like Chuck is doing here.
