...Other than Lee Chrysler Dodge in Fort Walton Beach, FL!!!
I am completely frustrated with their customer service and them not honoring my initial or Dodge extended warranty due to modifications THEY performed. Modifications they initially claimed would not effect my warranty. Basically, they don't want to fix a mechanical door latch under warranty because I (they) have modified the car with a supercharger. That's right, it really doesn't make sense. And there's 3 other warranted items they won't fix due to them labeling my vehicle "completely restricted". Meaning the dealership won't fix ANYTHING that goes wrong under my initial and extended warranty. I don't want to type a novel to explain what happened, but after explaining the situation to Chuck Tator he claimed, "They screwed you!"

They have the only Viper tech within hundreds of miles (that I know of)so they know they have you by the #@%$#. I am willing to drive some distance to a tuner or anyone with any Viper knowledge just to avoid taking my car to them. If anyone is interested in the whole story, pm me and/or provide a phone number and I'll be happy to explain.

Any suggested Viper mechanic/tuner somewhere in the distant area would be greatly appreciated!

Eric

05--try an independent shop--the warranty co will pay them for the work. Get a recommendation from others in the area for a good shop.

Will probably have to check around for other local viper owners suggestions and an independent shop. But warranty is completely void now that the dealership "completely restricted" the vehicle in the computer. Again, that means even a simple item that needs to be fixed that's completely unrelated to my modifications. It's truly rediculous. If I had the stamina to type the whole story, people's jaws would be dropping in disbelief!

Right now, just hoping someone on the forum knows of someone in the near area.

There is NO ONE here from Panama City to Biloxi that can or will work on our Vipers (other then the so-called dealers mentioned above) None of the others have a certified Viper Tech and we have NO private garage or business at all that can work on the Viper. Roe is the closest aftermarket and boom----there goes your warranty according to these dealerships. That being the case---How does all Viper owners changing thie rims and tires to other beautiful versions get THEIR dealers to honor the warranty on these brand new Vipers????? Let alone all the mods to the motor the Viper community has done????? Are we the ONLY ones in the Viper Nation with this problem??? Takes away ALL incentive to make our cars the way each individual wants to in upgrades. VERY CONFUSSING TO ME. Again thats why I bought a bone stock 600 h.p. motor Viper and don't change out my tires and rims to some like others do. :dunno: :brick::censored::sadpace::pile::peod::panic:

You have Macedo Motorsports in Orlando area/Central Florida, Doug Levin in Ft. Lauderdale, and Heffner's Performance in Sarasota. Depends on how far you want to drive.

I know of these guys and Larry's done great work for me before. But he's still 8 hrs away just to perform minor MX. Like Roysviper stated above, we have noone in the local or near distant area. So they know the Vipers in the area must use their services--or lack thereof! FRUSTRATING!!!

IT IS COMPLETELY AGAINST FEDERAL LAW TO DO WHAT THE ARE DOING!!! TELL THEM YOU WILL SEW THEM FOR BREAKING THE MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT!! I Will call them for you if I have too!! It infuriates me to hear things like this!!:mad::mad: I have called and spoken to many dealership that think they can do things like this. Once you mention the Magnuson-Moss act and sewing them they usually will change their tone! I would love to make that phone call for you! JD

Thanks JD for having my back-lol. You sound about as pissed as I am. The dealership didn't know what the Magnuson Warranty Act was (not surprisingly).

Did a bit more research and found this from "Googling" the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The exerpt quotes, "Further, under the act, aftermarket equipment that improves performance does not automatically void a vehicle manufacturer's original warranty, unless the warranty clearly states the addition of aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle's warranty, or if it can be proven that the aftermarket device is the direct cause of the failure.

Well, after reveiwing Dodge's 7/50 MAX Care Plan it states, "The following vehicles are not eligibe for the...service contract:...vehicles altered or converted from the original manufacturer's specifications...".

My question is, does the Max Care Plan language "clearly state" that ANY aftermarket equipment voids the warranty? Or do they mean vehicle PARTS that are altered or converted that you want repaired are not eligible. It sounds very vague and general like they're just trying to cover their a$$. By their languge you could conclude that if any part of the vehicle was altered or converted that would void the warranty. For example, if you altered the gears or even the gas cap does that mean the whole vehicle (i.e.trunk latch) then becomes not eligible? I guess that's an question for an expensive lawyer to answer. I'm not sure I can use the Magnuson Act based on what the MAX Care plan states about alterations and modifications!??? It sounds like the little guy is screwed again!
