I just listed my viper on the classifieds here. I am looking to sell only because I am dieing for a convertible so I am looking to buy an 03+ SRT10 Roadster.

It is a 1997 GTS, 39k miles, rebuilt title(I bought it this way, had the frame inspected prior to purchase and it is straight and I have no problem with the buyer doing the same) It was hit on the front lower end and no body panels were replaced, however the bumper and hood were repainted. In the past 1000 miles I have installed new pads, plugs, and oil change. The side skirts will be installed and louvers will be painted red this week. The car is pretty much spotless other than the bottom of the front bumper, but the price is negotiable for that reason.

If any interest the car is located in Orland Park, IL 60467 and I can be reached at 773 368 0555 (text or call). I will consider trades only for cars that I can resell on eBay quickly to get my money for my new convertible :drive:

Are those Sneaky Pete centercaps on the wheels? If so, where did you buy them if you don't mind me asking? I just saw a set on the Snake-Oyl website and wasn't sure if those were the same ones.

They were on my fathers 95 RT/10, I swapped them for my silver ones when he sold his car

Oh and they are a little differnt that the ones on the website you put in your post. Mine are all metal and the inside logo is painted black, and the outside circle red.

The car has been sitting for a few days so sorry about it being dirty, but maybe this will help

I like that, I've been wanting to buy sneaky pete centercaps for my iForge Rims. I was going to awhile back when I first bought them, but I was told for a set it would cost around $400. This summer I might shop around and see if I can find a cheaper set, I'm wondering how a blue logo would look as a centercap on a chrome rim.. To play it safe, I might just try to find a silver or chrome sneaky pete logo.

Yea, it would be nice to see a picture of one, since I'm not positive how it would look. In the past I saw a yellow GTS with yellow sneaky pete center caps. It looked kinda cool.

I know of guys that have gotten their own custom centercaps made. I don't know where, but the owner of A.R.T. and his son-in-law have custom Fangs centercaps on their HREs (Gen. IV) and SRT Ram (stock 22s). They're at the Mile but if you're interested hit them up and see how they pulled that off.

Thanks for the info. I might have to eventually. I've never heard of them, but the center caps is always something I'd like to get done unless any of the vendors can hook me up. I might make some calls this summer.

is it a bad pic or is that fascia busted up in the front ?

Bottom of the Front bumper is shred up form the accident, it was never replaced, but it's not to the point where it needs to be replaced, but if you want a perfect viper then it will have to be replaced

if you are trying to market this to viper owners we know whats up, just being real and not giving you a hard time but asking 26500 is way too much for a busted up 97 viper with almost 40 thousand miles and a total on the tile.

It seems pretty weird to me that in the first picture you PS'd the side cover's in. Also in the first statement you said NO body panels were replaced, just the front bumper cover and hood were repainted??? So somebody painted over the damage and left it busted up?? Or it was painted and you damaged it again??

I think your best bet is to eBay this car with NO reserve and take what you can get. Just write FOR SALE. Anything more and your going to confuse people, and they are going to know that your lying/covering up something.

Also in your situation I wouldn't write anymore then you have to because you spell every other work incorrect, and seem borderline illiterate.

Just my opinion.

whats the real story with this car? I am looking for a less than perfect red GTS to modify for racing, but frame damage is a killer.

The only mistake I made in the ad was that I said that no body panels were replaced, I had to replace the side covers because the car didn't have any when I purchased it. And when I had the car inspected they said the front bumper and hood appeared to be repainted, and no I did not do that damage to the front bumper, that is the way I got the car.

whats the real story with this car? I am looking for a less than perfect red GTS to modify for racing, but frame damage is a killer.

Honestly I said the whole story that I know about it, I purchased it from a guy up in Minneapolis, with no side skirts and a rebuilt title. I drove it home, purchased the side skirts, installed them, and continue driving the car as much as possible. And yes the front end doesn't line up perfect, but it doesn't look terrible, and it has a rebuilt title, its not going to be perfect. I have tons of pictures of the frame and etc I can email you.

And even with it's title status and flaws you can go 80mph and the viper will drive straight as an arrow..

Whats a clean 97 GTS with 20k miles go for. 30K????

So this one with the flaw on the title and the minor flaws on the fit and finish plus the 40K miles is worth about 20K in my book.

good luck and I really hope you can get atleaste 22K to put towards the 03 srt10 convertable

Are the airbags missing? both or just one? We cannot get it tagged here without the bags being correct.

eBay is best option. Folks here are generally more discriminating and will value the car appropriately. eBay viewers include those who may not notice this stuff or ask these questions

I believe it was put on ebay with a reserve and it did not sell, no reserve is a bit risky on ebay, I would do a buy it now option for 22K to see if you have a taker, if not do 20K and I'm confident you will find a buyer

I think your best bet is to eBay this car with NO reserve and take what you can get.

I'm sorry but a clean 97 GTS with 20k does not go for $30k. I have been looking at vipers for the past 6 months and the cheapest one I have come across other than the one I own was one in the east coast with 79k miles for $29k. I search cars.com, craigslist, autotrader, and the classifieds here almost daily.

I have $26k into mine without the tune up, I am not going to let it go for 22k, but I will work on the 26.

I have the cheapest GTS in the country by almost 8k

It appears to have the passenger airbag, but it had a aftermarket steering wheel when I bought it, I have since then purchased a factory wheel, and looking for an airbag

i bought my perfectly clean 97 GTS with 28K miles, no stories on it with all service paperwork from the previous 2 owners with a recent nice aftermarket aluminum radiator and everything that needed to be serviced recently done a month before purchase totaling almost 4 thousand in work in a private sale for way way way less than 26K 8 months ago....just saying, just because the vipers are listed at that price does not mean they are selling at that price

oh and the owner gave me a nice viper car cover that had just been dry cleaned still in the clear plastic bag after the sale had been completed, nice guy he could have kept it and sold it for a few extra bucks

You're VERY lucky and the seller obviously needed the money RIGHT THEN for whatever reason. Before I screwed myself that hard in a sale, I'd dress up like a bum and go ask for spare change on an exit ramp and see if I could get the $$.

Good for you, but thats not normal for Viper prices, even in the current economy.

I agree it was a great deal but he did not need the money, I talked with the owner last week and a month after the sale he found a nice low miles gen 3 with a gen 4 hood and a few tasteful upgrades and pulled the trigger, he had been trying to sell the gen 2 for months and months and started high and settled for my offer

Agreed. I was just gonna say Johnny, that was a steal! haha..

Here is a thread link from last year: http://forums.viperclub.org/rt-10-gts-discussions/637337-selling-my-99-gts-29k.html

I forget how many miles were on the car, I believe they were under 30k or around that. Either way it was a 99 Black/Silver GTS for 29k. I think he eventually sold it for 27.5k.. It was almost a year ago and the car was in pretty good condition. I don't remember all the specifics, but if your car has some issues I'm not sure if you will be able to get 27k or 26k. I think 24k or 25k might be your maximum. If you get the fascia fixed and/or anything else fixed/restored I would imagine you could list it for 27k-28k, especially once the weather starts to heat up.
