Now that is something i would be all over if he did another run of the ROE kits for the gen 1.

What do you say Sean????

Sidenote: I sent an email to Sean letting him know about this thread. He is away till next week so hopefully we hear back then if he is able to do this.

I talked to Sean in detail about bringing the 2.8L kit back into production when he tuned my car this past July. He wants to work on the manifold design to eliminate the issue of the rear two banks running rich compared to the others. In the past the VEC could take care of this, but the SCT lacks the individual injector fuel trims required to remove some fuel from the rear two banks. Hence the reason why I run an SCT and VEC combo on my 2.8L kit. He would rather have an improved kit prior to releasing it.

Sean runs a small operation and it requires him to invest a lot of R&D time (he doesn't get paid for) to figure out the manifold/fabricating/tuning issues. Maybe someone should start a list of people serious about purchasing a kit and send it to Sean to see if it's worth his time.

OP, maybe you and Brian GTS could work out a trade + cash? Your stock parts for his blower?

I think the time is right to start another run of them. Its a different breed of owners that are picking up the early Generation cars. The old rich guys that purchased up front aren't of the same mindset of the younger owners. Now I would love to take my 96 and get more power out of it, unlike the older gentleman who originally owned it. Have they figured out how to use the larger blowers successfully?

Yes, it requires minor changes depending on which blower you have. Sean used two different blowers on the 2.4L kit, one was shorter than the other and will require a new blower airbox to be made/customized.

Sean does great work and I am not knocking him but Paxton makes blowers for the Gen1 as well and they probably have them in stock. Are you guys just loyal to Sean? That's cool if you are but there are other options out there. Just saying.

The Paxton kit is nice but it is just not the same as a Roe. Off the line torque is what make the Roe set up attractive. Drive a 600+ rwhp Roe car and you'll understand.;)

That wasn't a jab at old people, it was a jab at the financially stable individuals who were the ones to first purchase these(Yes, there is a little envy). But I did finally get one. I should probably reword my thread, but I think the point is understood. The demographic that are buying the older cars has changed slightly from the original demographic of buyers. He'll, I was in High School when the Viper hit the road, I know I couldn't afford one. 450hp was also a lot in the 90s, not so much anymore. The Roe is the the King of low end torque as far as FI goes.

Sean said he will work on it this winter but I think we need to get a list going to motivate him. And he said he would keep the pricepoint about the same as the last one in the mid $7k range.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but from what I gathered, there were no real gains from upping the twin screw from 2.4L to 2.8L??

No real significant gains, but it will allow you to run more boost with a larger blower pulley. I'm running a 2.65" (8lb pulley for 2.4L) pulley on my ported head setup and I'm right @ 10lbs. I'm sure the 2.5" pulley would net me more boost, but I only wanted 10lbs..

Does seem to whine louder though..:)

It will be more efficient with the 2.8 because there is more volume per revolution. Also, because the pulley can be larger, it's less likely to have belt slip at the same PSI (more belt surface area).

Roe's dont typically have any belt slip issues. Paxtons are the ones that are notorious for that. I am running @ 10 pounds of boost and i have never had ANY belt slip issues.

I tried knocking on Kenne Bell's door a bunch of times but they had no interest . If twenty or so viper guys started bombarding them with calls, things might change. They are the kings in the mustang world, and they have the resources and the savvy to build a monster kit that put the Viper back on top of the food chain. I'm talking crazy power. Start banging on there door, if enough guys do it they may change there mind. They never felt the market was big enough, and the buying market was different back in the day. The Viper demographic was mostly non gear head, exec types. Anyone like the idea of a 1000hp/1000ft/lb Viper, nah I didn't think so. 550 is so much safer..........

If all you want is 550whp then forced induction isn't for you. Bolt on's, tune and even some giggle juice will get you there.

Go big or go home.

This weekend I'll have my 2.8H, Weaver pulley, and the #12 ROE pulley on the blower nose back on the road. Heat isn't an issue for me since with my modified manifold, I can now spray W/M both pre and post blower where in the past, I was restricted to just pre-blower W/M. And on that set-up last summer I pulled 686/785 at 15 PSI indicated @ 18 degrees total timing. I think I'm the only one to do a post-blower W/M system on a ROE. Should actually work/cool better than an intercooler given the latent heat of evaporation and benefits on combustion water injection has. If I don't break anything, I'll get things sorted out with the new SCT tune required and try and hit the same dyno in a month or so.
